PROFILE OF INDUSTRIES DEPARTMENT
Starting from Handicrafts & Cottage Industries, Micro, Small and Medium Industries to Heavy Industries in various sectors were coming under the ambit of Industries Department till 2011. After
19.12.2011, Industries Department has taken a new shape. It has been trifurcated by order of His Excellency, the Governor of Odisha vide General Administration Department Notification No-24622 dated 19.12.2011. Subject matter relating to Handicraft & Cottage
Industries
Department
has and been it merged is with
renamed
Textile

Handlooms

Handicrafts Department. The portion of technical education of
Industries
Department
has
been
attached
with
Labour
&
Employment and it became a new Department i.e., Employment and Technical Education & Training. The Industries Department then again divided into two Departments. One is Heavy Industries or Industries Department and another one is with a name of Micro,
