Difference Between Type 1 And 2 Diabetes
Diabetes is a lifelong chronic disease, although it can be managed with proper diet and medication. However, there are misconceptions about diabetes as well, for example in the New York Time article called I Have Diabetes. Am I to Blame identified some of these issues. But first I’ll explain the difference between type 1 & 2 diabetes. “In Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas no longer produces insulin, which means that sugar has no means to enter cells. In Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance means that even though insulin is being produced, cells do not respond to it” (Rivers).
