Is it cruel to keep animals in zoos?
In my opinion it is very cruel to lock animals in cages because their freedom is taken from them and neither are they able to run around in the wild. Instead they have to be stuck in the cages with little kids chucking rubbish at them at any time of the day.
It is all right to put in a zoo endangered animals like the cassowary because the zoo looks after them and gives them food. But if the cassowary was in the wild it would get killed and make it more endangered. For example, there are only 1000 cassowaries in the whole world so we need to protect them. Zoo keepers don’t understand how it would feel to be an animal locked up in a cage all day and night. Animals like to live in the wild apart from dogs, cats, some birds, etc. it just isn’t fair to the animals, it is so mean. It is cruel for animals to be separated from their family when they get taken from the wild to the zoo. I think that they should learn how to catch food for their self not be hand fed.They would all like to have their freedom but only if we could stop zoos getting animals and keeping them in there. Although they do look after them. The animals would get very lonely in the zoo.
