Cost Of College

College has helped many people make money and be successful, but is it really worth the cost? Post secondary school is a great way to excel in life and in the workplace, but not all people want or need to go to college. Accordingly, college is not worth the money because it can stress out post high school graduates, it can cause the students' family to go into debt and it doesn’t help those who are undecided about a career. These reasons may cause people doubt on whether college is worth the money or not.

Deciding on which college to attend is half the problem during the 21st century. Many people are bound by family ties to go to colleges that their whole family has attended. This can stress out the student because the college in which
The last thing you want to have to worry about senior year is qualifying or getting accepted into the college you are bound to go to. This quote uses the word “panic” to describe the sense of stress that these high school students can feel when they are trying to live up to their families' expectations.

When talking about the value of a college degree, cost is a big thing to consider. This quote from Source F says shows how Americans feel about the cost of colleges, “A majority of Americans (57%) say the higher education system in the United States fails to provide students with good value for the money they and their families spend” (“Is College Worth the Cost?”). Most colleges are very expensive and require the students to apply for financial aid, get money from scholarships or receive student loans. Financial aid sounds like a good thing. Colleges provide certain classes and have classes that go even deeper as you spend more time there if you know your pathway, but what about those who don't? First of all, all high school students should know their profession or career choice by their senior year, if not earlier. For those who don't know what they would like to do, college can be difficult to afford. It's already expensive enough, but now that student may have to spend extra time there trying to find their profession or career choice. This is a big problem for those who had a half-work half-school schedule or for the people who just didn't give effort in high school. Colleges should have a post high school graduate program for the people who haven't had time or for the lazy, to help them get to college, to find working students jobs and to turn some peoples lives around.
