My Inspirations The Golden State is the central idea of my collage essay, and my collage itself. California inspires me in so many ways and I feel I have represented that throughout my collage. Style, fashion, meeting amazing people, and the individualism that comes with being a Californian has given me such a broader outlook on the uniqueness of the state that I live in and has being my inspiration. I honestly think that living in California has given students that wish to pursue a creative career, including me, a much bigger advantage in reaching goals and aspirations. There is a big difference between style and fashion; and Lil Debbie is a huge fan of style. Rapper Lil Debbie is an independent up and coming female rapper. Besides her passionate rap lyrics and attitude that sometimes stirs up trouble, she is highly admired for her sense of style. It is obvious by looking at her instagram that her style is very unique and not like any others. Other celebrities and underground artists aim towards wearing the freshest fashion they can find. While Lil Debbie represents California as she expresses herself with the exclusive and original garments up and coming designers make, some especially for her. Which is why I put her on my collage. She is an individual, just like a lot of people in California. And after all, she was knick named “California’s Sweetheart”. Although she gets most of her wardrobe made especially for her, a lot of the street style she wears has made it to stores available to people everywhere with actual labels. An example of these stores is Urban Outfitters. Urban Outfitters carries a lot of style similar to Lil Debbie; but the difference is the price tags. Lil Debbie promotes most of the clothing she wears and gets it for free. As opposed to Urban Outfitters where a simple t-shirt can cost up to $45. I included Urban Outfitters on my collage because even though it is expensive, it still carries the most

Around the world, there are many countries, states, cities, and communities that live in poverty and cannot do much based on their surroundings and resources. Many people travel over to California in order to seek positive opportunities that will allow them to build a new life and succeed in their future. In the book California Dreams and Realities by Jack Solomon and Sonia Maasik, there are different selections which describe reasons on why people look to California as “the pursuit of life” such as jobs, land, and luxury. However, there are deeper reasons and symbols that give California the image of a great place. Freedom, wealth, and experience make California the start of great opportunities and live up to the ideal “dream life” that it…

English has without doubt achieved some kind of global status as many countries adopt the language they consider to be synonymous with economic success and a cosmopolitan culture. However, factors such as the increasing numbers of speakers of other languages, including in English-speaking countries, an increase in bi-lingualism and growing anti-American sentiment in some parts of the world, all indicate that English may not occupy an entirely stable position in the world. This essay explores some of the reasons why English has become so widespread and then argues that global domination of English, despite its current position as a medium of international communication, is unlikely to take place.…
