As stated, this oath lays out our school’s virtues and beliefs, and is therefore very important. “To live always with honor and integrity.” The dictionary defines integrity as “keeping a promise or agreement with the most respect”. I, however believe integrity to be much more. As put by Oprah Winfrey, “Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.” Having integrity means that you do what is right because it is right, not just because it will benefit you. Living with these traits may not be the easiest thing to do, but it teaches the students how to be honest and have strong moral principles. Examples of people living with honor and integrity are found in my own life. For example, my father went to a catholic school very similar to CBA in New York, and they too had an Academy Oath. My father always did the right thing, and when his friend’s house was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, my dad allowed him to stay in my house until he got back on his feet. This was a very moral thing my father did, and I believe if the pupils at CBA follow the virtue of living with
