Kathleen Maddox age sixteen and not married gave birth on November 12,1934 to Charles Maddox born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kathleen Maddox was an out of control teenager who had no remorse toward her son Charles Maddox she was not ready for a child especially being a single mother she was also a prostitute, Kathleen Maddox was an alcoholic who did not want to pay any attention to her new responsibility. Kathleen Maddox later married William Manson who gave his last name to Charles, as a little boy Charles Manson was part of a social disorganization he once said that Kathleen Maddox traded him for beer this is according to Couchthoughs, January 21, 2011 "Mom was in a cafe one afternoon with me on her lap. The waitress a would be mother without a child of her own, jokingly told my Mom she'd buy me from her. Mom replied, 'A pitcher of beer and he's yours.' The waitress set up the beer. Several days later my uncle had to search the town for the waitress and take me home". Kathleen Maddox was sent to prison for five years for armed robbery.
Charles Mason came from a middle class family, as a child Manson was living in several places first it was with his religious grandmother and uncle in West Virginia in a big old house Charles Manson had almost everything, his religious grandmother would take him to church which he did not like going but one thing he did like about church was the music they played he would love to sing, he then lived with another uncle in the Kentucky mountains his uncle had told Charles "We ain't surrender, were still rebels and will be rebels until the end of time, because I ain't accepting no Yankee school, don't go to those schools boy"(The Manson Women: Inside the Murders, done in 1996, Dianne Sawyer, ABC Newsmagazine, "Turning Point").
