Character Analysis Of Atticus Finch In 'To Kill A Mockingbird'

Atticus Finch, the father of Jem and Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird, is a great parent for a number of reasons. He is a good example to everyone around him. Atticus is an excellent parent who teaches his kids valuable lessons, the Golden Rule, and the importance of treating everyone equally. Throughout the book, Atticus teaches Jem and Scout valuable lessons that will help them later in life. One of the valuable lessons that he taught them was to care for those around them and especially each other. Jem cares for Scout by telling her “don’t eat things you find” (37), when she finds a pack of gum in a tree.
