Cast Of Amontillado
Fortunato from the story “The Cast of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe, and I were been lied to and was intentionally mislead.
A few year ago, my older cousin mislead me into believing that he was not human, but an alien. My cousin would tell me stories about how he came to earth and also he would demonstrate his gibberish language to me. I just sat there believing every word that goes through my mind. Then he would tell me to open my eyes and shut them, each time I did, he would seem to be teleporting everywhere. Actually, my cousin Paul just run and hide in different places, but who was I to know; I was so amazed by his power. The hilarious thing is Paul has a weird cone shape head, which totally convinced me that he was an alien! Moments later, Paul scrunched up his face and burst into laughter. In Edgar Allan Poe’s short story” The Cast of Amontillado” Fortunato, a wine expert was lured by Montresor statement that there was Amontillado wine. We see this in story when “But I have received a pipe of what passed for Amontillado, and I have my doubts. How? said he…And as for Luchresi he cannot distinguish Sherry from Amontillado” (page 63). In this scene Montresor met with Fortunato saying he had bought some Amontillado wine but not sure if was it real. This caught Fortunato attention and he insisted to go take a look for himself. Montresor saying excuses that it was okay, and that he would to go look for Luchresi instead, but he knew he will go with him either way. According to Montresor plan he lead Fortunato to the catacombs to see his wine. Into catacombs they went but instead of wine Fortunato was promise to see, Montresor put Fortunato into his death. Fortunato trusted Montresor that there was wine in the catacombs. This was Montresor scheme. It was to intentionally lure him in, so he can end Fortunato
