1) In this case study that focus on motivation. Motivation is define the process by which a person’s effort are energized, directed, and sustained toward attaining a goal.
Putting it in the simplest word, working at Google is like working in a fun land. Over 70 offices around the world with a very unique concept, Google succeeded to entice the best employees on each particular field to work with them. They hired smart and determined candidates and favor ability more than experience. At Google there are no fixed working hours and you can work whenever you want. And when not at work, Googlers pursue interests ranging from cycling to beekeeping, from frisbee to foxtrot. The offices and cafes are designed to encourage interactions between Googlers within and across teams, and to spark conversation about work and all the foods serve are free. Furthermore there even a place to sleep, play, a clinic, free car for leisure outing, and they also do employees’ laundry. It is a dream workplace for every employee in this world. In my view, this kind of work environment is good for employees to be more productive and lessen the pressure of workloads. This is also a way to motivate the employees to be encouraged to come to work and feel no pressure working. But to be more focused, this type of working environment is only fit to those individuals with high professionalism to really drive themselves in accordance to the company’s interest and to channel themselves towards company’s goals.

2) Google opinion is that talented and educated employees are more goal-oriented and enterprising. In other words if the company they work, is not able to satisfy their own needs and ambitions, they tend to quit. As it is mentioned in Victor Vroom’s Expectancy Theory is the probability perceived by the individual that existing a given amount of effort will lead to a certain level of performance. In Google, although beneficial and motivator services such as perks, spa, swimming pool and delicious gourmet meals have been provided; it is not enough to keep some of the employees in this firm. Thus, we can see that, if company’s opportunities do not meet talented employees’ expectations of promotion, there is no way to suppress their entrepreneurial spirit.

3) Talented and high educated employees’ expectations are difficult to meet with Google’s extraordinary opportunities. Moreover, the need for freedom may lead them to leave the company and set up their own business. For instance Sean Knapp, Bismarck Lepe and Belsasar Lepe refused Google’s offer, including a blank check, so as to start their own company which runs in web video sector. Their passion for innovation pushes them to leave Google and establish their own company. The reason why Google has to prevent creative and talented employees from resigning is that Google is a superior company and sustaining it’s perfectionist principles is compulsory for Google.
