CHAPTER 1 – INTRODUCTION OF THE STUDY 1. Background of the Study Computers today are now used as a substitute to manual processes and other past inventions like the cars, cellphones, tablets, laptops, computers, televisions, etc. It is now used by people for much simpler, easier and faster way to do things. Some used it as a hobby, and some use it as a job.

Nowadays, many people use computers in their daily lives. It makes their jobs easier and gives them time to do others things. Some use it for educational purposes, some use it for data storage and others use it for transactions. With computers, it can help you to simplify the process of storing, managing, and tracking the files you need for future use and make finding files easier than the manual process.

In business, some of them are using computerized systems especially in their sales and inventories. To develop successful computer systems requires great skill and knowledge. Others still cannot follow the popular trend of having this kind of systems because it is hard for them to facilitate their sales and inventory and it lead them to find time to record and manage it.

PROBLEM STATEMENT Monitoring sales and inventory manually is little bit difficult and time consuming. You have to double your effort and focus on computing sales and counting the inventory. There are many problems encountered using manual way of recording and tracking the sales and inventory. The records of their products are just written on a record sheet or a notebook that there are some times may be misplaced or accidentally thrown away by the employee who are in-charge of their sales records; some of the employee forgot to record a transaction; some are simply miscounted the number of items; and some are forgotten to write down a sale.
