Cancun, Mexico

Have you ever wanted to freeze time? Just pause life around you because there is no other place you would rather be? This is the state of mind that overpowers me as I think back to my vacation in Cancun, Mexico. There are numerous contributing factors that create this destination as my happy place. Although the many adventures that await you are incredible, the greatest element of this tropical oasis is the beach. As you approach the seaside, you are captivated by its beauty. The breathtaking panoramic view is enough to make your knees go weak. The bright, round sun blinds you as it appears rising and climbing like a yellow lemon on the horizon. The radiant rays of the neon sun reflect off of the untouched white sand that covers the ground as far as the eye can perceive. These perfectly placed grains of sand shine like flawlessly polished diamonds. Emerging from the pale sand are enormous jagged, kaki colored palm tree trunks that stand as tall as skyscrapers. Oversized, razor-sharp, emerald leaves hang from the tops while swaying back and forth in the light ocean breeze. The ocean water sparkles and glitters playfully like twinkling stars flickering in the night sky. The sights alone are enough to soften your soul with tranquility. Although the scenery may leave you speechless, the Mexican beach also plays into your other senses. The dry heat hits you like a cement wall as you step out of the cool air conditioning. Immediately, the feeling of your eye lashes batting against your eye lids take over as your eyes adjust to the vivid, intense, light. Your soft skin absorbs the harsh, blistering rays of the sun just like a sponge soaks up liquid. These rays radiate severe heat waves that make the cerulean, clear, cool water seem so appealing. A quick, gentle sea breeze rustles through your hair in an attempt to reduce the scorching heat. The soft, warm sand drains through your toes like an hour glass as you step one foot in front of the other. The physical sensations of these beaches become addictive to the heart and soul. While physical feeling plays a major role in enjoying the beach; sounds, smells and tastes are also crucial. The roaring of the waves crashing upon the shore, the laughter of children, and melodies from the radios are some of the blissful sounds that are stuck on repeat. Sweet sunscreen, oily tanning lotion, crisp wind, and salty sea air are familiar aromas that burn your nostrils. The taste of bitterness crosses your lips from the salt water. Coconut, pineapple, banana, and island flavors dance across your taste buds as you savor frozen treats. The beach welcomes you with open arms to the perfect environment. Though Cancun, Mexico has plenty to offer, it is truly the tropical beaches that embody the ideal getaway. Peace, serenity, and tranquility are accurately captured repeatedly throughout the five senses. I found myself carefree and at ease while I lay on the soothing beaches. Because of the satisfaction that surrounded me, Cancun, Mexico is a perfect destination to travel to.

You see, I do not necessarily care for the blistering hot days southern Florida is known for. I enjoy the beach the most when it is cooler; especially when it has just rained. I sit back in my beach chair and look up to the sky. The clouds create a pleasant, refreshing blanket from the hot sun. I take a deep breath and, I can smell the rain that has just fallen. Now, the clouds are breaking and letting little slivers of sunlight shine threw. The new sun seems to change the color of everything. The sand is a bright white with speckles of glittering shells. The ocean is a deep shade of aqua with the sunlight glistening over it. This is…

The thick tree lines and vast open fields bring a sense of freedom and grandeur. The brilliant light shining like beacon of hope with the soft calming breeze flowing across the field is refreshing and pure like a baby after a warm bath. The air seems to be free and clear of the city’s poisonous air pollution and the soft sounds of birds makes it all too refreshing, like a beautiful day on the beach. With quiet clean monuments and buildings dancing across the landscape, the look of peace and quiet seems to be present at last. As the blue crisp skies begin to darken across the brilliant blue pond, the shimmering light hitting the trees is as beautiful as the sun setting on the Catalina Island on a bright blue day with soft clouds flowing across the sky. I have the taste of fresh fruit on my tongue in my mouth as I take a long deep breath, and realize how much the soft green grass adds to the peacefulness in the park. I can hear the cheerful wildlife scampering beyond the tree line, like young children frolicking in their mother’s front yard. As the quiet darkness sets in, and with the city brilliant lights in the background, the serene park makes the bustling city seem peaceful once…

I love the beaches because the sand is softer than most beaches. The water is beautiful because it’s clear and you can see down at the sand and the big rocks. Sometimes you can see small fish go by and pass through. The water is also very warm. The waves were fun to try and bodysurf in. I also love the sandbars you see out far because it shows it doesn’t get deep for a while. Another thing I like is the scenery of boats and people having fun. The beaches are big and there is still plenty of room for you to enjoy yourself. There also fun things to do at the beach. You can rent a jet ski, go parasailing, snorkel, windsurf, scuba dive or fish. There is something that everyone can do there. I would go back to visit any time.…
