INTRODUCTION
A unique significant element in strategic portfolio management is to recognize a project’s creative value and strategic value to the company, with using the examples of the iPhone and iPad, both projects leveraged platform technology leadership, by removing complexity in the product in order to keep the “purest possible simplicity.” (Cass, John 2011) Apple is the trailblazer of not only personal computers, and tablets but also MP3s and smartphones. A key innovation in technology is Apple’s trademark multi-touch screen. Its efficacious influence on the iPhone and iPad comes from Apple’s strategic project portfolio management of the core platform
