What foods a pregnant mother should avoid?
There are some foods you shouldn't eat during pregnancy because they could:
Cause food poisoning or Harm your unborn baby
Eggs- Don’t eat raw or undercooked eggs and avoid foods that contain them, such as homemade mayonnaise.
Make sure that eggs are thoroughly cooked until the whites and yolks are solid. This will prevent the risk of salmonella food poisoning.
Meat- Don’t eat raw or undercooked meat.
Cook all meat thoroughly so there’s no trace of pink or blood. Take good care with sausages and minced meat.

Alcohol - You should avoid drinking alcohol if you're pregnant. Too much alcohol can seriously affect your baby's development.
Fish- There are some types of fish you should not eat such as tuna and oily fish as it can cause food poisoning during pregnancy.
Cheese- you should avoid soft and blue veined cheese such as chèvre, camembert, Brie, stilton and goats cheese. Cheeses like this are made with mould and can contain listeria bacteria that cause listeriosis which can cause problems for the unborn child such as- Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Meningitis and pneumonia.

Some foods that a pregnant mother should take more off
Fruit and vegetables- Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables because these provide vitamins and minerals, as well as fibre which helps digestion and prevents constipation. Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day these can be fresh, frozen, canned, dried or juiced. Always make sure u wash them carefully. Now your 5 a day really counts
Starchy foods - Starchy foods are an important source of vitamins and fibre they include bread, potatoes, breakfast cereals, rice, pasta, noodles, oats, sweet potatoes. These foods should be the main part of every meal. Eat wholemeal instead of white bread etc.
Protein- Protein includes meat, some fish, poultry, eggs, beans, pulses and nuts. Eat some protein every day. Make sure
