Breast Cancer Stay Strong
There is a large amount of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer every day but they usually do not know a lot about it in terms of how it forms and the many ways it can be treated. Breast cancer is a very serious disease that shouldn’t be taken lightly. If it is left untreated it can spread to other organs and eventually kill you. Even if you do not have breast cancer, chances are that you will know someone who will get it.
My friend’s aunt, Dana, was diagnosed with breast cancer on June 31, 2012. She had invasive lobular carcinoma type breast cancer. Invasive lobular carcinoma type refers to cancer that has broken through the wall of the lobule and begun to invade the tissues of the breast. Dana looked after me sense I met my friend, Jade, which I grew up with. Finding out she had breast cancer was so hard on us, but we kept all of our heads high, and encouraged her to stay strong. I remember when I came to visit; she had a hard time getting up, because they had used the muscle from her abdomen to make the breasts. She didn’t have to take lymph nodes and she didn’t have to undergo chemotherapy.
Your risk of developing breast cancer increases as you get older. Most advanced breast cancer cases are found in women over age fifty. Men can also get breast cancer, but they are one hundred times less likely than women to get breast cancer. If a parent passes you a defective gene, you have an increased risk of breast cancer. Women with one of these defects have up to an eighty percent chance of getting breast cancer sometime during their life.
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer beside from Lung Cancer. More than ten thousand families suffer from breast cancer. Breast cancer can be very dangerous but if you make the right decisions you can be a survivor. One thing I’ve learned by having someone special being diagnosed with breast cancer is that you can’t give up. No matter what, you need to try your best to cope with what you have. One of my favorite quotes is, “You are kind. You are smart. You are important.” You might have just passed the worst of this disease, don’t look down on yourself because you are important, people respect you, I respect you.
