Athletes Overpaid
In my opinion, athletes are way overpaid. They are only playing a game against another team and they get paid thousands of dollars just to do so when people who save other people’s lives don’t get paid enough. On the other hand, we sometimes take the time out of our day to watch people play football, basketball, baseball, etc. We stand in front of our TV to watch and cheer them on. They play for us. There are a couple reasons why I think athletes are overpaid. Those reasons are that athletes make up to $36 million in a year and nurses, firemen, doctors, etc, only make $70,000 a year. A family who has to pay for food and take care of their children with sort of low paying jobs get paid around $54,000 a year and athletes get paid around 4-5

Some might say that there are doctors and people like the president that really do save people's lives and help and that they should get paid millions. Then people like me saying that no they are not overpaid and that they are the best at what they can do. The odds of making the NFL is about 1.6% and that 1 injury may be the end of all of that, Not to blame the players but more like the people and the organizations themselves, without these players and without the youth that follow behind these big stars and NFL players there would be no Nike no Underarmour. NFL players are not paid too much because they are part of a multibillion dollar business and that they are just playing the game.…

The first reason why athletes should not get paid is because they already get free things from their sponsors to their fans. “The NCAA athletes get paid with psychology classes, track suits, knee braces, and ice baths.” This proves that the athletes get free stuff some of it that they don’t even use. Also the more popular you get the more fans you have and more sponsorship you have which means more money/gifts.…

Are professional athletes being paid too much? According to Charles Ray, athletes are making a lot more then they should be. Some players are making more then a brain surgeon would, yet the athletes don’t have to go through the pressure of saving lives. The money they’re getting paid could most definitely go to a different cause, instead of paying excessive amounts to hit a ball or shoot a basket.…

Some people believe that college athletes should be paid and others do not. The only thing wrong with paying athletes is they get paid in other ways. College athletes get scholarships, housing, coaches, and opportunities no other college student has. So maybe they shouldn’t get paid but when you step back and look at the whole picture; coaches get paid a lot of money for example coming from Nick Saban (football coach of University of Alabama) he makes over $7 million a year. But think of the team. Yes, the coaches put in a lot of effort to teach his players but the players do the real work.…

Athletes are some of the most talented people, but are they worth the millions that they are paid I do believe athletes don’t deserve the millions of dollars they make for what they do. I believe that all athletes are being overpaid just based off their entertainment. I have always been a huge sports fan, but athletes don’t deserve the money other people do to deserve it.
