Christian Worldview

A worldview is often defined simply as how someone views the world, but it is more than just the way one views the world. My definition of a worldview is the overall perception or interpretation that a person has on the world based on ones beliefs that is the foundation of which one lives life.

The Question of Origin “How did life begin?” and “How did mankind come into existence?” Life began when the world was formless and empty (Genesis 1:1-2) by our Creator God. God was the creator of the world and he created mankind in his image (Genesis 1:27).
The Question of Identity “What does it mean to be human?” and “Are Humans more important than animals?” Humans were created in the image of God. Humans were to be the rulers over all the creatures of the Earth (Genesis 1:26) and God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden to care for it (Genesis 2:15).
The Question of Meaning/Purpose “Why does mankind exist?” The purpose of mankind is to have a personal and intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ who was sent to Earth to save us of our sins (Genesis 3:16-17) and (John 17:3).
The Question of Morality or Ethics “What is right and wrong?” and “How should I live?” The Word of God is the truth which makes it the right way to live by and the foundation of what is right and wrong (John 17:17) and (John 10:35). God is the foundation of morality.
The Question of Destiny “Is there life after death?” and “What will happen to me when I die?” There is life after death, but there are two different places that one can live their eternal life after death (Roman 6:23). Eternal life can be spent in Heaven or in the fire pits of Hell. God determines whether we live eternal life in Heaven or Hell; when he judges us based on our lives on earth (2 Corinthians 5:10). The Biblical worldview influences everything that you do. The first thing the biblical worldview should influences you to treat others in a polite and respectful way (Luke 6:31). The biblical worldview influences me to be kind to others just how I would want others to be kind and considerate towards me even if they are not. The second scenario that is influenced by the biblical worldview is how I might vote in a local or national election. This is so because I base my votes on my ethical and moral values that are taught in the Bible.

In the beginning when God created light, the firmament, the vegetation, wildlife, rodents, birds, the fishes in the water, he had just created a food chain that would ensure continuation of life on earth. He then created Adam in HIS own image to head the other creations, to be on top of the food chain, hence, God had started the human race. Thousands of years after, the wildlife, the vegetation and everything HE created are still germane to human existence on earth. It is also worth of note that God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day, which is equivalent to our Monday through Saturday for work and we rest on the seventh day which is Sunday. Once again, God’s perfect idea of when to work and when to rest.…

Based on scripture, Christians believe there is life after death. Christians believe God has already proved himself in all aspects except destiny, but that He is coming. For theists, destiny is a very important aspect of their belief. Christians believe there are two final states: Heaven and Hell which is also known as the “lake of death” (Rev. 20:15) or “the second death” (Rev. 21:8). Christians are confident in their final destinations after their earthly death (2 Cor. 5:8) because God offered a free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is progressive, restorative, and comprehensive. A person must be set apart (clean before God) and saved to be a son of God and to go to Heaven. God believes there is no sin too big. He also believes all people should repent and be saved because their past does not matter in their new life with…

My own worldview is heavily influenced by the teachings of the Bible. Whenever I come across new information, I must first reflect upon if it is logical and consistent. Every view must come under heavy scrutiny for errors in logic and sorted out. If an argument is logical, then I compare it with the Scriptures. This is because I have found the Bible to be the ultimate source of Truth and I believe that it is the inspired Word of God. Every life is important…
