Apa Reference
APA Reference Page Quick Guide * The reference page should be the last page of your work. It gets its own page. Insert a page break at the end of your text (this prevents distortion when edits are made). * Title of page: References * This should be CENTERED. Do not underling, italicize or make bold. * If you only have one reference, the title will be Reference. * Double space the entire page. * No extra spaces between entries * Use the hanging indent. * Highlight the citations and press Ctrl T. This command automatically formats the hanging indent. (see example below) * Alphabetize the entire page by the author’s last name * If there is no author, do not use Anonymous. The title takes the place of the author and the reference is alphabetized by the first letter of the first work of the title. * Capitalize the FIRST word, the word after a colon, and all proper names in the title of books and articles. * Capitalize only the first word of the title of a book. Also, italicize the name of the book. * Italicize the name of books, journals, and magazines, but do NOT italicize the name of the article. * Do not use the words Volume or Vol., Issue or Iss,. or Pages, p. or pp. (See below) * For electronic references, give the DOI, if you are provided that information. DOI’s always begin with the number 10. The DOI can be found on the first page of an electronic journal, near the copyright information or date. If no DIO is assigned, provide the URL of the journal of book publisher. * No retrieval dates or database names are needed * Pay attention to punctuation (see below) * “Remove hyperlink” * When the web addresses turn blue and get underlined, right click them and “remove hyperlink” * Be sure to include ALL the necessary information (see examples below) * Be sure to follow the correct format (see examples below) * Remember, if you cite a reference in your paper,
