When comparing and contrasting the painting, American Gothic, and the photograph, Rural Rehabilitation it is clear that different styles of art show different views of reality. For example, in a painting, everything is seen through the artist's eye. They choose what you see and how you see it. While in a photograph, you view a less biased reality.
