Alternative Energy
Alternative Energy Alternative Energy whether used for transportation or utilities such as generating electricity for home or business is a very significant subject going on right now because of the benefits it would provide for us, such as environmental, economic, job security and energy security. I believe alternative energy would be beneficial to our society, especially if it is used in transport; there is many other better, leaner and reusable energy sources out there, for example fuel for vehicles pollutes the air and yet can be changed by using a more natural source that doesn 't create as much pollution if not any If we were to experiment more with the usage of natural elements, without mentioning that it would be cheaper for all of us in the long run.

Despoiling nature to get at the tiny trickle of oil we have left won 't make any significant difference in what we pay at the pump - not now and not ever. And it won 't make our country any less dependent on foreign fuel. Our thirst for oil is bad for national security, bad for our economy and bad for the environment, America needs to say no to pumping up Big Oil 's profits and yes to forging a new clean energy economy." -"Build the Clean Energy Economy," www.nrdc.org

The nation is finally realizing that the solutions to these twin crises are linked. That is because nearly everything that is good for the environment - and practically everything that is good in the fight against global warming - is a job. We can power America through this recession by repowering America with clean energy. We can create millions of jobs that will make our people wealthier and the Earth healthier. (Jones, 2008)
The U.S. renewable energy resource base is vast and practically untapped. Available wind energy resources in 12 Midwestern and Rocky Mountain states equal about 2.5 times the entire electricity production of the United States, Complete elimination of CO2 could occur as

alternative energy source. It is what we know of as standard solar energy where there is a collector that captures that sunlight to heat the air and water and can also generate electricity. Another form of alternative energy is wind energy. An advantage to using alternative energy sources is that they are renewable. A disadvantage of alternative energy sources is that they can be inconsistent, as is the case especially with wind energy. Discuss how they work, how they compare with fossil fuels, and their relative advantages and disadvantages. A major advantage of fossil fuels is their…

Perhaps the solution to the United States dependency on foreign oil is not with tapping our own supplies of fossil fuel, but with our own supplies of coal. Technology developed in the 1930’s allows the production of oil from coal (Strong). Jonathan Strong advocates that “Coal is one of the most abundant fossil fuels in the world and can be mined relatively easily. Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Montana have huge reserves of coal (Strong).” Strong states that Governor Brian Schweitzer of Montana believes that his state “could produce oil and other petroleum products from the millions of tons of coal reserves it owns in southeast Montana (Strong).” The cost to produce a barrel of oil via coal liquefaction is…

Every resident in this community is reliant on outside sources that use non-renewable resources for power and to clean our water. Every day the resources used are depleted and will eventually run out; in the meantime we set idly by and watch prices escalate. Fossil fuels emit many pollutants (EPA, 2008) into the air and encourage global warming. Those outside sources subject this community to rate increases and dependency on weather conditions. Renewable energy is found in many forms, generated by the earth. Effectively harnessing these energies will reduce gas emissions (EPA, 2008.)…

Energy is an important part of our everyday lives. Energy can come in many different types, and forms it can be used for many different purposes. Energy has many different usages and can be converted from one form of usage to another form of usage depending on what the need is. One form of energy conversion is the use of food to supply people's bodies with energy. Another form of energy is how coal is converted into electricity. Fuel is another form of energy that can be used for many different usages as well. Fuel is used for much different reason such as allowing our cars to function and our lawnmowers to cut grass. There are many different reasons why people use energy in the many different ways that we use it. Even though people rely on energy usage, some of the forms of energy we use are very harmful to the environment and even dangerous to ourselves. The harmful and dangerous fuels that we use can be changed to alternative methods of energy usage. There are two different types of alternative energy, which is known as renewable energy. Renewable energy is very resourceful and is able to be used because it is all around us there will not be a shortage of material and it is safer on every living thing and being. Energy and fuel usage just like everything else in the world has its advantages and disadvantages about using it. We must collectivity figure out which source of energy is right for everyone but for now we will find out which is best to use in your…

For years, the nations of the world have relied on some form of energy to sustain the populace and the industrial sectors of that nation. Fossil fuels (oil, coal, and natural gas) are the backbone of the United States’ energy consumption. Fossil fuels are not an infinite source but a finite source. Scientists do not know the exact process behind the creation of fossil fuels, except that the creation takes a very long time. Because fossil fuels are not unlimited and speculation has some fossil fuels disappearing by the end of the 21st century, many individuals believe that the United States needs to look at other resources to fuel the country (“Introduction to Renewable Energy: Opposing Viewpoints,” 2009).…

We are a plague of negative energy consumers and we will continue to remove ourselves from the reality of environmental humiliation if it means we can still enjoy our material devices, and our complicated obsession of hurting mother nature. The world’s energy consumption has escalated firmly since the industrial boom of the 1800s and will continue to rise as long as we hold a place on this planet or as long as our planet contains the ability to sustain our humanitarian pressure. Presently, the vast majority of our energy consumption is provided by coal or natural gas, but due to the limited supply of resources, the constant production has driven oil and gas prices up. With exhausted traditional natural gas sources, entrepreneurs set out to…

Alternate energy is renewable and environmental friendly. It is clean and emits little to no greenhouse gas compared to natural resources (www.doe.gov). People do not understand the limitations of fossil fuels. Someday they will run out but wind, water current, and the sun will not run out before fossil fuels do. There are many renewable resources available so not only one source will be over used.…

The future of humanity is at stake due to the high consumption of energy sources that are used to get us through our everyday lives! Our most common methods of generating energy are polluting our beloved planet Earth and tearing up the ozone layer. Also, many of these methods we are currently abusing to generate energy are non-renewable. Thats means we could run out any day now. This is a formula for complete disaster, but don't be scared. Like most things we can fix this situation we have put ourselves into with alternative energy sources. Sorry Captain Planet it looks like you will be sitting this one out. There are many different forms of clean and renewable alternative energy. Fortunately it look likes we may be headed down the right path to saving humanity. Some of these forms of alternative energy that can definitely help solve the problem are: wind energy; hydrogen; solar power; wave energy.…

There are several types of alternative sources of energy. For example, some experts claim that the technology and safety aspects of some sources of energy such as solar power, wind turbines, nuclear power and hydropower needs to be improved. The first alternative energy source might be solar energy because it is renewable energy that can be collected in everyday life. Although this source of energy is very easy to find and collect, the cost of the equipment required to…

Using nuclear energy as an alternate source of power seems to be promising. It affirms to provide safe, clean, and effective energy for centuries to come. I believe that nuclear energy is our best hope for replacing fossil fuels. By using nuclear energy, nothing is released into the atmosphere - no greenhouse gasses whatsoever. The giant clouds pouring out of nuclear power plants is merely steam. Also, just one pound of enriched uranium (used to make nuclear energy), could produce as much energy as one million gallons of gasoline or three million pounds of coal.…
