Alcohol Persuasive Speech

From a young age we were taught by parents, teachers, and police officers that drinking underage is unhealthy and can lead you to failure in the future. Although many of us listened and didn’t drink from a young age and waited till it was legal some of us didn’t.
Alcohol is a drug. Every day more than, 4,750 American kids at the age of 15 or younger take their first sip of alcohol. Kids who start drinking before the age of 15 or more likely to become an alcoholic or an abuser of alcohol. When teenagers start to drink it usually has to do with low self-esteem or they think that it will make them feel happier with all the stress they are under. Sometimes kids drink because their friends usually do it and they feel that if they don’t drink they aren’t going to be cool in their friends eyes.
A new study reports that during High School two out of three teenagers have drank alcohol, the problem with this is that they don’t just have a sip they binge drink. Binge drinking for a teenager is drinking three drinks in a row for a boy from the age 9 to 13 or for an girl that is 17 years old or younger. For boys 14 to 15, it is four drinks.
When you are drunk people don’t quite remember what happens in that moment because alcohol makes it harder for the brain to turn on short-term memories into long-term ones. But when you are a teenager the risks become greater because your brain is not yet done developing and that can lead to long term and harmful injuries to the brain.
Accidents, Injuries, and Death- Drinking can cause many numerous accidents from car crashes to even drowning. If you are in a car accident and someone loses a life due to drinking at a young age, it can lead to depression and a lifetime of guilt that can cause long-term health
