Al Motherhood Research Paper
As a warrior, sometimes you are born with your strength, other times, well you build on it. I am building on it. The battles I have faced in life have shaped me into the woman I am today. Everything from the struggles in school, family, and even the untold struggles of motherhood. Each battle has made me stronger, and helps me face the battles still to come.
Family to me is everything, I am just the weird one in the herd. My loyalty stands with them, growing up I was the “rebel.” I enjoy all types of music, anything from Motown, Grunge, Country, anything Heavy Metal. Music has always been a big part of my life. My mom listens to mainly Gospel and Motown. We didn’t see eye to eye on any other hobbies, polar opposites. To avoid any conflict my sisters is who I would look to for guidance.
Growing up school wasn’t too challenging, which could lead to a possible issue as I continue with college. I wasn’t the student who had issues in school but also wasn’t that student with straight A’s. I was that honor student, average, right below National Junior Honor Society. School showed me early that I can do it, but if I wanted success I must work harder. My sisters that taught me beyond my years; learning things like multiplication during kindergarten. Math is my favorite.

I was already out of my parents’ house, working and with my high school sweetheart. Pregnancy took the life out of me. Having so many minor issues, including high blood pressure and Ovarian Cysts. When my water broke there was no big splash, I didn’t know. Labor was smooth, I thought. I got epidural and gave birth in thirty minutes. When it was time to walk again, my legs couldn’t bear weight. I couldn’t walk, couldn’t stand; yet in bed I could move my legs. Losing the ability to walk after new born baby was traumatizing, I didn’t have a strong support system. Daily I was checked on once a day, and still had all the full time duties of a new

Carol Berkin’s "Revolutionary Mothers: Women in the Struggle for America's Independence" is an excellent book that I immensely enjoyed. When many people think of the Revolutionary War, they might imagine George Washington gallantly leading his men through the winters at Valley Forge or the like. Berkin begins her masterpiece by giving a general overview of the roll that women played in our countries war for independence. Now I, like many others come to think of the iconic role model women like Betsy Ross and the fabled Molly Pitcher, but this star of a book opened my eyes to the everyday revolutionary woman. The running theme throughout the book is the fact that women during the revolutionary war were notable participants on many levels deemed beyond worthy of admiration. This theme was not touted, but elegantly weaved throughout the text in stories of women that left a permanent mark on war effort regardless of race or creed.…

I hate my foster mama, and so does many other people. She is way too violent all the time: “She possessed the unique ability to aggravate almost anyone she ever met” (Zusak 35). She has a temper issue. When she cannot control her temper, she usually beats me with a wooden spoon. Also, she swears too much. I have had no idea that… certain words existed until she would not stop using them. Because of her, I can swear fluently in German and English. Some adults might say, “What’s so bad about swearing?” Sure it is okay for adults to swear, but I am ten. Why is it a good idea to let a ten-year-old girl know how to swear fluently in two languages? I hat my foster mama so much. Actual mama, why could you have not kept me? Both of our lives would…

At 12:30 at night on June 1, 2015, my life would soon change forever. I was pregnant with my first child and my water had just broken. My mom rushed me to the hospital where I was immediately put in a private room, in the hospital bed where I was about to deliver my first child, a son. He came so quickly (5 & 1/2 hours in total) and I had requested no pain medications and turned it down on several occasions as the medical staff pleaded with me to use it. The pain began to become more and more unbearable, so much so that I honestly felt paralyzed from my waist down. My body was taking over to my surprise and I was just there with my legs in stirrups. They seemed immovable and with the pains coming faster, it is as if they stopped receiving any of the signals my brain was sending to them.…

Three years ago my life changed dramatically. I was in college pursuing my bachelor’s for registered nursing when I found out I was pregnant. Right then I felt my dreams slip from under me. The scholarship I had worked so hard for, the job my dad slaved at over these past years to get me into the University I had begged him to send me to, all of that was gone. Fearful of the journey that had lain ahead for me; I had not yet planned what my next step in life was going to be. Nervous and scared, I built up the courage to tell my family.…

    Birth Experience Essay

Everything started around 4:30am, sharp pains in stomach woke me up out of my sleep. I wasn’t sure exactly what they were because it had happened before, so I tried to lay back down and get some rest. At around 5:30am, an hour after the first experience having abdominal pain I knew that I might be in labor. Having been six days past my due date I knew inside that it must be time to give birth to my daughter, so I got out of bed and went upstairs to tell my mom that it’s time. We had to wait until my contractions were about 10 minutes apart before we could leave for the hospital so I waited while lying in bed trying to breath, and find a happy place which is what I learned to do in my child birth class. A few hours had passed, and by this time the pain was so unbearable I knew we had to start heading to the hospital. Even trying to stand up to get all the bags and supplies I needed out the door and to the car was a challenge. I felt like I couldn’t even move. All I wanted to do was sit down and take deep breaths, basically go to my happy place so my mind wouldn’t think about the pain my body was feeling. We finally made our way to the hospital around 9:30am, arriving in the emergency department at 10:00am. The emergency department took me to the 14th floor of the hospital where the nurses had to evaluate if I truly was in labor; they also had to check with my doctor to see if he would like to admit me. After an hour of walking around trying to get dilated more, and waiting for the doctor’s okay on admitting me I was finally in the room where I would be meeting my daughter for the first time.…

An essay is a composition that defends a position or opinion, also called a thesis, which has been put forth by the author. The thesis contains the claim or the subject that the essay is about. Swift’s A Modest Proposal is about the women and children of Ireland and the terrible condition of their lives. His thesis clearly makes a statement and he clearly defends his claim. He states “For preventing the children of poor people in Ireland, from being a burden on their parents or country, and for making them beneficial to the publick.” This sentence or statement clearly sets the stage for the essay. It clearly defines the topic he discusses in the essay.…

I never knew the power of my own strength and what my mind and body is capable of going through until I experienced my first pregnancy. In January of 2010, one month after my twenty first birthday, I had found out news that would change my life forever. Feeling nauseated and not myself, I decided to take a pregnancy test at the doctors and discovered I was about three to four weeks pregnant. It was extremely difficult for me to even accept the thought of carrying an unborn child inside of me for nine months and more so becoming a mother terrified me. It was hard physically, financially, and also emotionally. Although I went through horrible “morning sickness”, from the very first day, up until I was four months, and although I was still very nervous about this whole situation, I had decided that I would keep my baby because I knew in my heart that I would tremendously regret not going through with my pregnancy.…

School is one of the most important interest of mines. Because it’s a learning experience and doesn’t matter how old I am I can always continue my education, I also feel people are never to old to pick up a book an read or learn about new things. School inspired me in a major way growing up as a child. It inspired me because my mother always took my education serious. She would look me in my eyes “ whatever you do don’t give up and learn as much as you can”, she always stressed that to my two brothers and me, it really was hard on me because I was the youngest and whole family expected the out of me.…

I am a fighter. Along with everything my Mom had taught me, I can and never will forget everything my Dad has taught me. He has without a doubt made me who I am in every single way. As a 24 year retired Air Force war veteran, he has taught me to always be hard working, never let anything hold me down, and push myself to limits that I never thought I could reach. It has taken me my whole life to realize how important those things are, but with time…
