TOPIC 1
Nearly all higher education institutions today are accustomed to the use of technology to assist the teaching and learning process. One immediate example is the implementation of ICT in education where most experts believe that the approach is able to uphold several advantages in assisting students, as well as teachers for a better learning process.
Provide the advantages of using ICT as a tool for teaching and learning process in higher education institution.

ICT or information and communication technology is widely use in higher education institutions for teaching and learning process. The tools for ICT included computers, the broadcasting technologies, and internet. The emphasis of students anticipation with ICT is mainly to increase the students’ potential and improving the quality of education. The introducing of ICT in education bring a lot of impact and expression from others. They believe ICT is a basic of revolutionary in education and will not change the function of education. Meanwhile, minority also worried about the the losing of students’ focus and attention to the subject when they using internet and computer as a medium. However, people believe that ICT at least will solve some of the problems in learning process. The advantages of using ICT as a tool for teaching and learning process in higher education are increased motivation to stay-on tasks and produce high quality output; improving comprehension, speed and vocabulary; and excess widely to learning and participation in class.
First advantage is increased motivation to stay-on tasks and produce high quality output. By using computer and laptop, student will more interested in learning. Trimmel and Bachman (2004) had stated in their research that “information technology has a positive impact on school attendance and learning interest”. This show that students are normally more interested using ICT as a part of learning skills. Apart from that, lecturers are using PowerPoint
