Abbott's Hill Elementary School Handbook Analysis

I read a copy of Abbott’s Hill Elementary schools factually handbook. The handbook shared a bunch of useful information. It ranged from dress code to what to do if the building is on lock down, with very useful information in between! The handbook is laid out in alphabetical order so when an emergency or a simple concern or question arises you can find the answer easy enough!
One thing that I found very important and useful was the section on the emergency codes and alert. Throughout the section it goes over what each code means and what you do as well as what the alerts are. For this school these codes are labeled by color, red, green, blue and yellow; if of these codes hold their own meaning. Another section I found useful was the child abuse section, it goes over what to do if this situation occurs and how to contact DECS. I feel these two sections are very important and teachers should read them every
For example in this section it discusses the correct ways to contact and speak to parents, as well as the guidelines for acting in a professional manner. It also has an area in the section that tells you where to go to for help. For new teachers and para-educators this area of the handbook can be very helpful when they are just beginning and need help getting their foot in the door. The handbook is filled with a lot of useful information; however it lacks a lot of information specifically for paraprofessionals. I feel a section should be added that specifically address the paraprofessionals because just like the teacher they have a big role in the classroom. Overall the handbook was very useful and important, the handbook laid out the guidelines, rules and regulations for faculty and staff, and by having these handbooks it helps the teachers make the school year run smoothly and
