He attended a state school and then worked in bank’s back office, while pursuing his CFA designation (currently he is on the executive board of the CFA Society of Orlando). During his speech, he noted that to break into any private/alternative investment field from a state school you must build a network, build your brand, and develop a knack for always being better than your competitor. He stated “The most cost effective way to set yourself apart and impress recruiters is to becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst, although it may be the toughest thing to do.
