9/11 Interview
On 9/11/2001 United States was attacked by terrorist group called al-Qaeda. 19 of them hijacked 4 planes. One plane crashed into the pentagon killing 184 people. Another plane, flight 93, crashed into an empty flied in Pennsylvania. The plane was originally heading to Washington DC, but crashed in a flied because the passengers fought back. The last 2 planes hit into the twin towers. The damage was so much that the south tower collapsed 56 minutes after it was attacked and the north tower didn’t collapse till 102 minutes. Together it killed more than 2,700 people. To help me learn more about 9/11 I interviewed my cousin. She’s currently 26 and was 15 when this all happened.
When she first heard the news she was at school. The principal had told all the teachers to turn all their TV’s. Her first reaction was, I’m I dreaming? She couldn’t believe what was happening. She was in total shock, angry, and sad. Also she told me that she stayed in school all day and only some parents went to pick up their kids. Next I asked her what image sticks in her head from 9/11. Her answer was when the 2nd plane hit into the south tower and when it collapsed. She couldn’t believe that when it finally did collapsed it collapsed in a span of 30 second. 9/11 affected her a couple ways. She’s now always a little afraid to go on airplanes. Also she also gets Goosebumps while talking about 9/11. Does she fear another attack? Sometimes she does but the security in today world is much better. Jamie did not know anyone that was involved in 9/11, but she will always remember that day. Then I asked her if she was in the building would she have also jumped? Her response was “Yes, I would not want my body to be burned. I’d rather jump because my body would be more likely to be found.” Afterwards I asked her, do you think 9/11 will ever fade into history? Her answer was no and that she thinks 9/11 will always be remember, even after a long time. Lastly she told me the emotions
