5 Month Personal Fitness Level
Your essay is due at the end of the fourth class period after assigned. You will be given an opportunity to research your topic in the library or at home. Failure to adhere to library rules will require you to return to PE class and will result in a lowering of your citizenship grade and suspension of library privileges. Your essay needs to be clearly handwritten and at least five paragraphs in length. You must cite at least three sources and submit your notes and a list of sources along with your essay. The assignment is worth 10 points; equivalent to the amount of points earned through 5 days of PE participation. You will be deducted one point for each day the assignment is late.

Write an essay that defends, challenges, or qualifies the legitimacy of the correlation between child obesity and the amount of time spent using the television. Your essay should synthesize at least three sources for support.
Week #2: Personal Fitness Plan:
Write about your own personal fitness level. Develop and list personal goals to improve your fitness level. Create a one-month personal fitness and nutrition plan that includes aquatic activities. You may choose to discuss your injury recovery process and your overall well being to participate in Physical Education class. You will not need to submit sources for this essay. You are required to write a five-paragraph essay and submit your one-month personal fitness and nutrition plan.
Week # 3: Swimming
Explain the importance of swim instruction and skill. Make sure you research and discuss the importance of swim instruction for survival, fitness and physical therapy. Your essay should include information from at least three sources.
Week # 4: Long Term Effects of Nutrition
Research the long-term effects of nutrition, both good and bad. You may refine your research to include the long-term effects of childhood obesity, how nutritional
