TRIAL 9.7
Murder and Attempted Armed Robbery
STATE
v.
JOHN HUDSON

Introduction
This case involves an attempted robbery and shooting that occurred in Lazar’s Clothing
Store on February 14, [-1]. The store was owned and managed by Sidney and Sara Lazar. Mrs.
Lazar was shot and killed during the attempted robbery. Two men were involved in the crime.
After the shooting, police arrived and interviewed Mr. Lazar and a bystander, Mr. Green.
That afternoon Mr. Lazar looked through a stack of photographs and tentatively identified photographs of John Hudson and Dale Buckner as photos of the two men who had killed his wife. That night, after checking the two suspects’ arrest records and obtaining an arrest warrant for Hudson and Buckner, the police went to their apartment and arrested them. The police also found certain physical evidence in the apartment. Outside they saw a car matching the description of the getaway car.
The police then called Mr. Lazar and the bystander, Mr. Green. At the police station both
Lazar and Green participated in several identification procedures.
The police records show that Hudson was convicted of aggravated assault seven years ago and was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary.
A ballistics expert at the police crime lab examined a gun found in the apartment and concluded that it had been recently cleaned. Because of this, he was unable to determine whether it had been recently fired. The ballistics expert also examined the bullet that was removed from
Sara Lazar’s body. The expert concluded the bullet was a .38 caliber bullet, but because it was too damaged he could not determine if it was fired from the gun.
A pathologist who performed the autopsy on Sara Lazar’s body determined that death was caused by a single gunshot wound to her head, which entered her brain.
A custodian of the records of the state motor vehicle department looked through the

records and found that a [-8] black Cadillac sedan was registered to John Hudson on

Through ballistics research and forensics experts who studied JFK’s body and other experts at the crime scene conclude that, “nearly the whole bullet found on Governer Conally’s stretcher at Parkland memorial and the two bullet fragments found in the front seat of the presedential limousine were fired from the 6.5-millimeter Mannlicher Carcano found on the sixth floor of the depository building”. This was stated from the Warren Report, a report on the conclusion of all the findings of the crime. This evidence supports the fact that Lee Harvey had shot JFK because he owned and was in possession of a 6.50millimeter Carcano rifle. This is evident through the documentation of a mail order for the same rifle used for the assassination, advertised in an issue of American Rifleman. His prints were also found on the rifle, reinforcing he was in possession of it. More supporting evidence was the finding of the rifle partially hidden in a brown bag, in the same room Oswald was in at the time of the assassination. All this evidence clearly shows Lee owned and was in possession of the murder weapon.…

Laci Peterson, a 27-year-old wife who was eight months pregnant, disappeared on December 24, 2002. When the body of the California woman and her unborn child were found four months later, her husband, Scott, was charged with two counts of murder. Detective Craig Grogan gave a sworn statement that he had probable cause to believe Mr. Peterson committed two counts of the crime of 187 Penal Code, homicide, on or about December 23 or 24 of 2002, in the county of Stanislaus. April 17, 2003 the Judge of the Superior Court in Stanislaus County, California issued a warrant for the arrest of Scott Lee Peterson. The court found that the District Attorney’s office did, in fact, have probable cause to bring Scott Peterson in. The Judge specifically addressed bail in the warrant. No bail was granted. April 18, 2003, Scott Peterson was arrested at the Torrey Pines Golf Course, in Sand Diego County, California. At the time of his arrest, Peterson had colored his hair blonde, grown a beard and mustache, and was carrying $15,000.00 in cash. During his arrest police also discovered that Peterson’s car was full of camping and survival equipment. Peterson was arrested less than 20 minutes from the Mexican border. Peterson waived booking in San Mateo County, California, and was transferred back to Stanislaus County, California, where he was formally booked by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.…
