If we go back to the history of 1945‚ we come to know the history of 1945; we come to know the worst type of nuclear disaster the world had witnessed. On August 6‚ 1945 an atom bomb was dropped on HIROSHIMA in Japan‚ which devastated the entire town killing 66‚000 people and injuring nearly 69‚000. On August 9‚ 1945 another atom bomb was dropped on NAGASAKI. This bomb killed nearly 39‚000 people and injured more than 25‚000. Nuclear weapons are thus‚ far more destructive and harmful to the society

terrifying powerful explosive‚ as devastating as any other of the deadly explosive weapons of modern war. Had the war continued until the projected invasion on November 1‚ additional fire raids of B‑20’s would have been more destructive of life and property than the very limited number of atomic raids which we could have done in the same period. But the atomic bomb was more than a weapon of terrible destruction; it was a psychological weapon as well. The bomb served exactly the purpose we intended.

nuclei of atoms in particular patterns. You will discover these patterns (and how electrons sometimes act like passengers boarding a bus) with the Electron Configuration Gizmo™. To begin‚ check that Lithium is selected on the PERIODIC TABLE tab. 1. The atomic number is equal to the number of protons in an atom. How many protons are in a lithium atom? ________3_____ 2. A neutral atom has the same number of electrons and protons. How many electrons are in a neutral lithium atom? ______3_______

that diatomic molecules make up majority of the Earth’s atmosphere? The prefix “di” means ‘’two’’ in Greek‚ so these diatomic molecules are made up of two atoms. In this lesson‚ we will discuss diatomic molecules and go over some examples. !!!What is a Diatomic Molecule? Diatomic molecules are all around us. The Earth’s atmosphere is mainly composed of about 78% oxygen and 21% nitrogen. The oxygen and nitrogen present in the atmosphere are both in the form of ‘’diatomic molecules’’‚ as shown below:

Campbell’s Biology‚ 9e (Reece et al.) Chapter 5 The Structure and Function of Large Biological Molecules In Chapter 5‚ the principles of chemistry covered in earlier chapters are applied to the understanding of biological polymers and lipid membranes. The emphasis is on properly linking monomers and their polymers‚ and on the structural and functional diversity of the different polymer types. Particular attention is given to protein structure‚ because this is central to understanding subsequent

The reason that I am interested in doing my research essay on the Atom Bomb is because I have always been interested in politics. How our world works‚ and what has effected it’s course‚ in my opinion‚ is one of the most important subjects to learn among our peers. After careful thought‚ I chose the atomic bomb because it is one of the few past inventions that still threaten us today. My base intention is to try an understand why men desired such an easy‚ yet consequential‚ means of war. What drives

Over time many theories have been developed into the structure of the atom and what the world around us is composed of. Many scientists and philosophers have dedicated their life works into trying to understand how atoms work and what they are made up of‚ although not all theories have been accepted they have all come together to form what we know today. It all started from a Greek scientist called Democritus‚ who developed the idea that everything is made up of smaller things‚ which he named atomos

It is in the d-block and it is a transition metal. Technetium is in the 7th group in the periodic table because it has 1 electron on its last shell. Also it is in the 5th period in the periodic table because it has 5 shells. Number of energy levels of Technetium is 5. Its electron shells are 2‚8‚18‚14‚1 as it is in the picture. Firstly‚ Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev‚ who is the creator of the periodic table‚ predicted Technetium’s existence. He called it eka-manganese because there was a missing
