I saw The Santa Fe Big Band 22nd‚ Annual Evening of Jazz Concert. The band was dressed up all matching. The men were wearing black dress shirts and pants‚ with dress shoes. The women wearing black formal dresses with red shoes. They all looked very professional and when they started playing it immediately took me back to the 1930s‚ the big band era.  Most of the songs were of long length and with many solos through the songs. The instruments used to create the songs were: saxophones‚ trombones‚ trumpets

Rafa Esparza is a Hispanic artist that crafts bricks through the traditions passed on by Mexico’s history. Arriving at the event‚ the lights dimmed down and

Journal IV Music Appreciation Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major‚ K. 488 I love Mozart‚ Beethoven‚ Bach‚ Chopin‚ and all the classical period instrumental compositions. This piece is whimsical and reminds me of a butterfly just flying through the spring air after coming out of a cocoon. The tone is very warm and bright‚ listening to the overall allegretto tempo you get excited when you hear the tempo jump to vivace and back down to moderato. This concerto was completed in 1786‚ which also happened

Concert Review 2 Not thrilled to go to this concert‚ I brought it to myself to go anyways. There were a few reasons I decided to go. One‚ the date worked out well for me and I needed to get this done. Two‚ my professor Dr. Mapp‚ yourself‚ was one of the conductors so I felt like I could relate better possibly. I came into the session after a long day of golf. I wasn’t too tired‚ but I came into the session hoping for it to bring me to a state of a higher happiness. The session began abruptly with a type of jazz distinctive from my past hours listening to 91.1. This first musical piece was Alfredo De La’s “Somos Los Reyes Del Mundo” in the album Triunfo. The beat behind all of the vocal‚ violin‚ and flute improvisation sounded very much like salsa music. The bongo being played behind all the improvisation

Concert Review 1 Jazz Concert The concert I attended stared two very talented African musicians‚ Lionel Loueke and Richard Bona. This was the first concert I had ever been to. I had never seen professional artists perform live before so seeing these two men that were well known in the jazz world was amazing. It was nothing like I expected‚ I thought the concert was just going to be regular old jazz songs‚ but the way these guys played it was like they were free styling the entire show. The musician
