While reading the beginning portion of Silko’s Ceremony‚ it is rather evident that storytelling is going to be a main focus of the novel. The way that this book is set up is much different than anything that I have read before. It contains poetry sections in between longer prose sections. When these poetry sections are inserted‚ I sense a change of story or place in time. There seems to be a lot of flashbacks by Tayo who from reading isn’t very easy to figure out.
