Art is powerful. It’s an expression of who we are‚ how we feel. It shapes society‚ causes relaxation‚ and stimulates our brain. The Red Canna by Georgia O’ Keeffe has done this and more to me‚ by inspiring me to make art‚ live a simpler life‚ and appreciate things with a deeper meaning. I was moved by the Red Canna because the colors are eminently vibrant and bold but also complementary at the same time. The different tones and shade are brought together harmoniously using different brushing techniques

Art in My Life I can’t really say I know very much from the world of Art. I do know I look at things in a different view from a lot of people and see beauty in objects and backgrounds that others simply ignore or don’t notice. My personal love is photography‚ of all kinds. Many don’t see photography as an art form because photographers don’t sculpt‚ paint‚ draw or weld it. I believe it is because they show us many things at different angles and views that as a society we have been trained to

ESSAY- “Artists are no longer the makers of their art but have become manages and coordinators” Marcel Duchamp was born on July 28th‚ 1887 in France. He is most famous for his ready-made artwork called “Fountain” 1917‚ a urinal which was not made by Duchamp‚ the only modification made to the urinal was a signature signed by Marcel Duchamp which was not his. This caused controversy over whether this was really an artwork. In saying this‚ Marcel Duchamp‚ his ready-mades (‘Bicycle Wheel”1913 and “Fountain”1917)

afternoon‚ I decided to visit the Timken Museum of Art located in Balboa Park. I chose the Timken specifically after reading about it online‚ and knowing that it had a variety of different paintings ranging from European paintings to American and Russian paintings. After going in to the museum‚ I took a walk and viewed the entire collection of artwork displayed‚ as suggested in the video “How to Visit an Art Museum”. While doing so‚ I noted down the works of art that impressed me from the first glance. After

Art book evaluation (Year 10) This year we have been studying natural forms‚ this has involved using many new and different materials and techniques. Firstly we started by looking at art by Georgia O’keefe who mainly painted abstract flowers this was a new style for me as I have never tried drawing in abstract style before‚ after this we did two paintings in acrylics one of shells and one piece of corn and around the edge of the paintings I then collaged in the background. This was a new way

The Mérode Altarpiece While the Mérode Altarpiece is definitely not the most aesthetically beautiful piece of art I have been introduced to this summer‚ it is my favorite for many reasons. After looking deeper into the painting and learning of the symbolism and background of it‚ I began to find myself really interested in it. I became interested enough in this painting to do some research on it outside of the class. While there are many common characteristics held by the painting‚ they are not my

When I was growing up‚ I was always told that choosing an art career‚ or something involving art‚ was a bad idea. "No‚ you’ll end up working at a fast food restaurant when you can’t find work‚" was a phrase I heard often when talking about my future college career in middle school. "Art is a good hobby‚ but you’ll never be able to support yourself with an art degree‚" was another phrase I heard‚ and I felt that was the hardest to hear; it entailed that I might not have been good enough to support
