contains some rhyme‚ but not to much. There is no specific amount of rhythm‚ as some lines are short‚ while others a a little bit longer‚ which keeps the poem interesting. I did not notice to much onomatopoeia in this poem‚ but i did notice some alliteration being used here and there. With this poem using all these effects and sounds devices‚ it keeps the poem intriguing. It also keeps the poem going‚ and prevents it from becoming stale‚ which is a very good quality for a poem that is 28 lines.

“Keine Lazarovitch” By: Irving Layton The poem “Keine Lazarovitch” by Irving Layton was written about his mother‚ Keine‚ most likely as a eulogy after she died in 1959. Owen is more famous for his angry and emotional poems such as Dulce‚ though his quieter poems can pack just a strong a punch. Futility has a barely controlled emotion to it‚ we are used to Owen questioning war and people but here he questions life itself. His desperation and hollow lack of hope‚ so resigned against life‚ is intensely emotional‚ beyond anger and beyond help. His use of sounds and assonance give the poem a quiet tone‚ almost as if the speaker is whispering. There is no
