Online Gaming is the current trend with the youth nowadays. Many students are found in internet cafes because they are so engrossed in playing various online and LAN games. Many young people nowadays would say gaming is an easy way to relieve stress from school or anything, many would say it is a pastime that is addictive, many would also say that they feel exhilarated whenever they play online games. It is obvious that these mere online games are more than what it is to those who are actually immersed in this kind of hobby. It develops camaraderie and friendship around the players, however, these games also show violence and explicit contents, that is why many would question about its effect to students. An online game is a game played over a computer network, whether using a PC or over the internet, via an internet-connected games console or on a handheld device such as a mobile phone or smart phone. The trait or function of online games can diversify greatly, from casual to single-player games, to community-based games in social networking sites (also known as social gaming), or massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG), where potentially millions of players are involved in the game at any one time. Some games are free, whereas others are subscription based or require credits to acquire virtual goods or possessions to proceed through the game (sshanee.blogspot.com/2009/00/academic-performance-of-bsit-1-online-html). Online gaming is already a big business in recent years, and many games have a huge following community the world over. In the year 2008 the amount of internet users expanded continuously. The information was from the National Statistics Office (2009) which found that the number of internet users increased from the year 1994 the number of internet users were 6.97 million people, but in the year 2008 the number of users increased to 10.96 million people.
