Why I Hate People Being Late Essay Example
People who are always late

Is it really that hard to be on time? Since you know you are leaving why don't you try to leave at a reasonable time?

To start with, I'm a very punctual person who hates people who are always late. Always being chronically late is one of the most annoying thing a person can do. I understand occasionally, but all the time? I mean `Come on´.

This annoys me greatly. I have two friends who used to be late almost every single time. I remember one time, one of these friend's and I wanted to meet up at around 11am. In usual style I was there early and proceeded to wait at the same spot for over one hour. Eventually he turned up at 12.00am without an apology or even a hint of an excuse, and it put me in an irritable mood for a long time when we were together. But what's even worse is when on top of that, if he would showed up with a cup of coffee in his hand. `I mean what the hell´. Luckily this didn't happened. I have probably spent a whole day standing and waiting for them if you add it all together. They're just lucky they are such amazing friends to be with once they get there. Luckily they don't do this anymore so much, they normally text ahead or arrive on time. But on the very odd occasion that I think I'm going to be even five minutes late I will always make contact and explain why I'm late and by how long, or if I can't, apologize when I arrive. Being punctual is not that hard. It comes down to a lack of respect towards other people. It seems that the "late people's" time is so much more valuable than yours. It also says a lot about a person's respect level towards other people. If they're late, they don't care. If they don't care, they shouldn't even have bothered showing up in my opinion. Sometimes I'm starting to get sick of always being on time (or early) and feeling like I'm the only one who cares, while the others just sit back and doesn't gives a fuck. And some people are so disgustingly self

It would seem juvenile to some that going to the wrong place, regardless if in the required attire, even 15 minutes early! I focused my attention on something underlying to an issue that can arise from this: paying attention to detail. Soldier’s books are handed out, calendars are easily accessible and not to forget Outlook and all the possibilities there. Use them, any combination of them.…

It is very important and imperative that one be on time to formations, briefs and anything else they are scheduled to do that day because if someone misses a brief or meeting they could miss very important information, every mission has a starting point and if your higher-ups tell you that is when they want to get stuff started. If you’re late that could mean doing push-ups Also, if you’re too late for duty you’re considered AWOL (absent without leave). Usually one should try to be early because being early, is always better than being late, it also reflects positively on you as a person, on your team leader and anyone in charge of them because you are a reflection of your team leader and anything he teaches you. It makes you and them look and seem squared away and on their game and not a lazy unmotivated scum bag. So if you want to impress your upper chain of command it would be a good idea to be at least on time if not early. You’ll look good and impress people hopefully the right people.…

    Why Not to Be Late

Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, repeated tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they do not care about what their NCO tells them. If you don't use your time wisely, you can never get it back. It is a very special resource in that you cannot store it or save it for later. Promptness is not only a duty, but is also a part of good manners; it is favorable to fortune, reputation, influence, and usefulness. Lack of punctuality is a theft of someone else's time and a complete lack of respect for others. You should be punctual in everything you do. Punctuality goes hand in hand with military discipline. Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from the day one. The way you can show military discipline is by obeying all orders that are given to you and performing them all in a military manner and also to the best of your abilities. Showing up late to anything also shows a great lack in professionalism on my part. Not showing up on time makes me look unprofessional and also anyone else in my chain of command look bad because I showed up late for work. Not showing up on time makes…

Being on time is important in everything you do especially in the military. By not being on time you can cause problems for not just you but other people as well. For instance if you are to be replacing someone and you are not on time you can make that person late because they had to wait for you. By just one person being late can disrupt the events of an entire day. An example of this is a platoon is going out to a field exercise for training and a soldier is late by fifteen minutes that can cause that entire platoon to be behind in getting out to the field exercise disrupting the agenda set by the platoon leader and platoon sargent. If you are late to an appointment you are taking up valuable time that could be used by another person. Another reason it is always important to be on time is if you are going to a job interview and you are not on time you could loose the position because it is a first impression of how your work ethic could be. Even if you just make plans with some friends to see a movie, you should be on time because if you are late you and your friends will miss part of the movie. In the military you can receive sever punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for not being on time. Some of the consequences can include loss of rank, loss of pay, and having to pull extra duty while under restriction. Repeatedly being late in the military could lead to a discharge from service. Similarly if you are constantly late for civilian employment you will face punishment that could include having your hours cut back, your earnings garnished, or possibly fired from that position. After creating a history of being late to a point that you are let go from your job, it can become difficult to find future employment due to the fact that employers will contact your previous line of employment to find out why you were released from your position within that company. Further more after making a history to your friends, family and your employers of not…

    Turn Signal Behaviors

This behavior of not using turn signals really irks me. I don’t like it because people either ignore you or don’t pay attention to the situation around them. One example is when I have had to wait at an intersection for an oncoming car to pass by and then I’ll get a good moment to make a left turn. Instead the car coming up on my left side just turns right before the intersection without using any signal. At this particular moment I could have easily made a left turn and not spent another five minutes waiting if he had only used his turn signal.…

    Los Angeles Traffic

There are many reasons that cause this issue daily including anything from accidents to just plain stupidity. The most common reason for this problem is simply too many people trying to get to the same place at the same time. As a result, people commuting to and from Los Angeles must leave hours early just to make sure they are on time. For example, my mom used to work in east LA which was 35 miles from our house, she would leave at 4:30 a.m. to be at work by 5:15 a.m. She would go back to sleep in her car just so she would not have to sit in traffic. If she left later than 5:30 a.m. it was an almost guarantee she would be late. As for the commute home, she would leave at 3:30 p.m. to get home by 5:30 p.m. That means at least an extra 2 hours a day she spent just sitting in traffic if there wasn’t an accident or construction which would take even longer.…

If people abided by this, we wouldn't need any other policies about behavior. If the community is telling you that you are being inconsiderate, and then please reflect on your behavior.
