II. Navigational tools and compass malfunctions are frequently reported when in the Bermuda Triangle areas and no real scientific explanations have been provided.

A. Mysterious Disappearance of Flight 19
1. Compass malfunctions, the pilots could not locate where they exactly were.
2. Bermuda Triangle is one out of only two places on earth where the compass points to true north rather than magnetic north. (Agonic line once passed through Bermuda triangle, which people blame for compass malfunctions, but now it is somewhere near the Gulf of Mexico.)
B. Christopher Columbus’s discoveries while exploring the Atlantic Ocean 1. His compass went super haywire.
2. Scientists say that Columbus had just met with “magnetic variation” or that his compass had been disturbed by some other close-by magnetic force.

III. Ghost and abandoned ships have been found lurking in these waters. Ships and planes mysteriously disappear in this area and no wreckage or signs of them has ever been found.

A. Mary Celeste — the Ghost Ship 1. The ship was found off the coast of Portugal with no one on the ship. 2. There are many plausible theories for this bizarre incident, such as, piracy, insurance scam, storm, and a possible threat of explosion on the ship. Well pigeons and sea turtles are not the only creatures on this Earth to use a magnetic compass. But I found that sea turtles use inclination angle and intensity to follow certain routes in the ocean, they call these routes gyres. The gyre is known to be warm and have lots of food, but where the gyre is cold there is less food and turtles that follow these routes tend to die. Also a lot of these creatures tend to have a substance in their brains called magnetite, and apparently this is what causes the animals to detect the Earth’s magnetic field.…

The official report by the U.S. government reads that Earhart and Noonan ran out of fuel, crashed into the water, and sank (“What Happened to Amelia Earhart?”). One of the most common hypotheses made about Earhart and Noonan’s death is that they landed on Nikumaroro (“What Happened to Amelia Earhart?”). For a while this island was left uninvestigated because at the time it was “uninhabited” (“What Happened to Amelia Earhart?”). Evidence later found by the TIGHAR, or International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery, contradicts this idea with The Earhart Project (“What Happened to Amelia Earhart?”). TIGHAR found improvised tools, remnants of shoes, traces of a campfire, and aircraft wreckage that looked much like Earhart’s plane (“What Happened to Amelia Earhart?”).…

Environmental factors, such as fog are a more likely cause of poor navigation due to the limited visibility. Severe storms can be unpredictable at times in the ocean and hurricanes can go passing by without a navigator even noticing it causing dangerous flight or sailing conditions. The technology and time period of the most disappearances and crashes happened a long time ago mainly during the 1940’s through the 1960’s so technology played a role in the unfortunate events that occurred in the region (Bermuda Triangle- Facts and…

If a ship were in the area of the blowout, the water beneath it would suddenly become much less dense. The vessel could sink and sediment could quickly cover it as it settles onto the sea floor (Obringer). Even planes flying overhead could catch fire during such a blowout by the methane gas escalating in the atmosphere. Hurricanes can be a likely cause as well, because it’s in a hurricane zone. Some people also think that pirates or other raiders might be a reason.…
