Research question:
The question the researcher will formulate an answer to.
Applied research: answers a practical question. (clear goal is very important)
Research ethics: will the respondents take part voluntarily will the obtained data be confidential and anonymous will the respondents be fully informed in advance of the research about the purpose and method?
Can you ensure that the research will have no negative consequences for the respondents?
Will the research be conducted in an honest and objective way?
Verification:
To be able to establish how the researcher reached his or her conclusion.
Research units:
The individuals, organizations or situations that you want to discuss.
Population:
The sum of units/everybody that is included in your research.
Qualitative preliminary investigation:
Doing research in advance to formulate ideas and theories, but in a qualitative way, so following a course, or investigate your research field.
Descriptive research:
Usually about frequency issues.
Qualitative exploratory Research:
To gain some basic knowledge about your research topic. To give you some inspiration.
Quantitative exploratory research:
When you already have some idea about what factors are playing a role you can do some quantitative research about these factors.
Template approach:
To check if research done in another field is applicable in your field.
Operationalization:
How to translate an abstract construct like ‘self image’ into tangible questions.

ethnographic research:
Descriptive research carried out on the basis of a participant study.
Delphi research:
Aimed at surveying people’s ideas, especially in relation to policy and developing these ideas. This research is build up in rounds. In the first round people are asked to respond to a question. In the second round the answers to this question are sent anonymously back to the participants, and they have to respond and give
