Physics The life cycle of a star

 The Life of a small Star, a star of mass up to eight times that of the sun(< 8M o) or has a core remnant of mass up to one and a half times that of the sun(< 1.5M o), can be summarized in the following stages: Stage 1- Stars are born in a region of high density Nebula. Stage 2 – Under its own gravitational force, interstellar clouds of dust and gases condenses into a huge globule of gas and dust to form a glowing Protostar. If there is not enough material in the protostar, one possible outcome is a large, notvery-luminous celestial body called brown dwarf. Stage 3–If a protostar contains enough matter the central temperature reaches 15 million ˚C. At this temperature, Hydrogen nuclei start to fuse together to form Helium and the star begins to release energy. This energy radiation production prevents further contraction of the star. It is now Main Sequence Star so it settles to an almost constant luminosity and temperature. The nearest main sequence star to Earth is the Sun. A star of one solar mass remains in main sequence for about 10 billion years, until all of the hydrogen has fused to form helium. Large main sequence stars have large gravitational forces acting on them. They therefore have a large inwards pull. They have higher temperatures so they burn hydrogen very quickly resulting in shorter stay as a main sequence star. Stage 4 - When the Hydrogen in the core runs out, the fusing of helium to form carbon starts in the core. This releases a huge amount of energy which causes the outer layers of star to expand and become a Red giant. Stage 5 - When the Helium in the core runs out, the core will collapse to form a white dwarf and the outer layers drift of away from the core as a gaseous shell; this gas that surrounds the core is called a Planetary Nebula. Stage 6 - As time continues, a white dwarf will eventually cool and

Stars start there life as a cloud of gas called a nebula. Mainly consisting of hydrogen and helium. The gases will then be drawn to a centre point of gravity which will then create a protostar. And then the nuclear fusion in the core of the star will star and the star will stabilize. This is known as the stars equilibrium when pressure equals gravity.…

Stellar evolution stars exist because of gravity. The two opposing forces in a star are gravity (contracts) and thermal nuclear energy (expands). Stage 1 Birth is where gravity contracts the cloud and the temperature rises, becoming a protostar. Protostars are a hypothetical cloud of dust and atoms in space which are believed to develop into a star. Astronomers are fairly certain of their existence. Protostars are formed about a million years after a gas clump from an interstellar gas cloud has started to rotate and from a disk. The protostar is simply the core of the disk that formed from the clump of gas that was compressed inside the gas cloud. The star becomes a stable main-sequence star, which are characterized by the source of their energy. They are all undergoing fusion of hydrogen into helium within their cores. The rate at which they do this and the amount of fuel available depends upon the mass of the star. Mass is the key factor in determining the lifespan of a main sequence star, its size and its luminosity. Stars on the main sequence also appear to be unchanging for long periods of time. Any model of such stars must be able to account for their stability. Ninety percent of a stars life is in the main-sequence. A red giant is a luminous giant star of low intermediate mass that is in a late phase of stellar evolution. The outer atmosphere is inflated and tenuous, making the radius immense and the surface temperature low, somewhere from 5,000 K and lower. The appearance of the red giant is from yellow orange to red, including the spectral types K and M, but also class S stars and most carbon stars. The burnout and death final stage of a star depends on its mass. After a low mass star like the Sun exhausts…

The stars are the majority and most widely acknowledged astronomical components that symbolize the most essential development of the galaxies. The disbursement, age, and the framework of the night sky in the galaxy maintain a record of the heritage, evolution and characteristics of our galaxy. More important the stars are integral to the fabrication and allocation of heavy elements. Notably corresponding to oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen, is intimately associated with the capabilities of the planetary models, which in turn associate about them. Previously, the analysis of the conception, longevity, and…

If you heat hydrogen to 10 million degrees, it creates energy that stars use to shine. When hydrogen is heated to 10 million degrees, a process called nuclear fusion takes place. It creates a new, heavier element called helium. Some of the matter in this reaction is covered to pure energy which bursts out in all direction. In this process, a new star is created. The first star was a 1000 times bigger than our own sun and it gave off deep blue color. The first elements were created in these stars. If we were to cut open a star, we would see that helium sinks to the center and hydrogen stays near the surface of the star. As Helium reacts with one another, it creates a new, even heavier element called Carbon. The process is very repetitive, causing the star to be layered like an onion. Now, even more elements were created, such as Neon, Oxygen, and Iron. The iron sinks to the center of the star. Iron cannot create another element, therefore the fusion stops. Eventually, the star stops producing the energy and collapses. As the core is compressed, the temperature of the star rises. It eventually explodes and creates what is called a Supernova. The shockwave that comes from the supernova is so powerful, that is forces the iron to form even heavier elements such as gold, platinum, and lead. This eventually leads to more and more elements being formed. It creates everything we see around us. Stars created…

Stargirl is a very thought- provoking book. The author, Jerry Spinelli has an amazing voice throughout it. Like if you read it, you can just know that this book is by Jerry Spinelli without reading the cover. I think he is such an amazing writer. He has this talent to just know to capture the reader- he’s not particularly good at anything else, but his writing makes you feel you’re in the story because you understand everything. You want to know what happens next, and when you read it, it links to another event, you want to read more, and so on. The way he describes it is that he makes it seem everything is so interesting or exciting or sad or angry and makes the reader so emotional. I wish I could do the same with my writing.…

Gilles Fontaine was born in 1948 at Lévis, near Quebec City. He went to school at Laval University in Quebec City. (AstroLab.2006) after he became an “Astroseismologist” which is an Astronomer who studies the internal structure of stars meaning to study the parts inside of the stars, by looking at changes in their light. Gilles Fontaine has won many awards like the BSC Physics award at Laval University in 1969 and the Marie-Victorian Award by the government of Quebec in 1999(Science, 2007).he was trained to study the main part of astronomy called astrophysics, to explain the characteristics of the universe, stars and planets at the university of Rochester in New York. (Fraser, Cain.2009) .He is a world expert on looking at aging stars called White Dwarf stars. A white dwarf star is the end stage of a star; it is about huge as the sun only a little bigger than the earth, it uses up its energy and becomes much smaller. After a billion years the star cools down and dies. Gilles Fontaine makes $97,320 per year in studying white dwarfs.…

Star Girl certainty lived her life with enthusiasm, kindness, love and joy.…
