Goals can be personal or professional, long-term or short-term, but they help us track our course and stay on target for our future endeavors. Securing the image you see for your future requires straightforward ideas, dedication, and a passion to carry you through to the end. A goal is an end to which you direct your efforts. (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2011, “Glossary”). The objectives desired by each individual acts as a compass, guiding each of us to ultimately build upon our blue print for life.…

A system you can use to tell where you are. My milestone for achieving my short term goals would be getting an acceptable grade for my weekly assignments and getting at least forty hours of work per week at my job. Completing my weekly assignments by utilizing the resources that the University has to offer will increase my chances of attaining a B or better in the class. Communication is significant to human interaction, without it we would not know what to do nor would we know what we want to have done (Casey & Wallis, 2011). I must communicate with my team members if it is a team assignment and make sure all objectives are clarified. Communicating with the instructor is vital in succeeding. If an assignment is not understood, prompt communicating with instructors will facilitate effectively completing task. Another short term goal milestone would be to find a suitable partner. This has been a quest in the past. Sorting through potential partners is a task I rarely enjoy. Many persons send their representative for the first few interactions. Afterward the true person shows up and most times I understand why the representative had to come forth first. The true person’s character was not much to be…

My 5th short target was to meet the deadlines of coursework. I was able to do my coursework on time because I started to concentrate on class and my teacher also helped me while I was having difficulties. When I look back at my target when I set my self, I believe I have improved a lot. For my medium goal I set my self four targets which were getting distinctions on my course, get a place in university, complete my UCAS form and get a suitable job. Out of the four I was able to reach my two targets they were, completing my UCAS form from the help of my teacher and the student guidance staff and getting a suitable job. I still have not achieved distinctions on my course because I have not finished my course, so I am still trying to do best to…

The word SMART is an acronym which actually stands for something in this case. The S stands for specific meaning that your goal must be specific. For example you can say a goal for you is to graduate at the end of the year, but that is too vague. You must be specific to a better goal would be to pass this course so I may move on to the next one. M stands for Measurable, meaning that your goal must be measurable so you can see progress. A stands for attainable, so something that is achievable, something that you can actually reach. R stands for realistic, meaning that, is it realistic that you can pass the class by not showing up, the answer to that would be no. So a realistic goal would be to show up to class because that is important to passing the class. T stands for timely. Give yourself a reasonable amount of time to achieve your goal.…

Everyone remembers being a sixth grader with those lockers that wouldn’t open and the school that was like a maze. Now this is our school and we are the big dogs. That is what growth is. I set goals is sixth grade and I succeeded and I did the same thing in seventh, now I am still setting goals because without goals you will stray of course. The goals I set for myself involve making the honor role getting into the Medical Science program at the Freehold Boro High School. This will be tough because many other people will be going for this program not only in this school so I will have to work very hard to reach my goal. I will achieve this goal by working hard getting good grades and doing the best I can on those tests. I will work hard in all my classes to get great recommendations and that will definitely help me succeed. Outside of school I play football, basketball, and lacrosse.I set high goals in each of these sports. In football only the top 3 teams in each division get into the playoffs, I want the team I play for to make it into the playoffs. In lacrosse I play defence so my goal for most games is to not let my man get by me and score goal. I am not very good at basketball but that doesn't make my goals easier to schive, I like to get at least 6 points a game. These are some hard goals to achieve but I believe that with the work I put in I can achieve these…
