Subject: Physical Education
Teacher: Mrs. Antoine
Class:

Entry one

The physical education class consists of thirty students. There are__ boys and __ girls in the class. In the first week of our physical education class, as we entered fifth form in the first semester, the teacher told us that we had to work on a project for our (SBA) school based assessment. We were told that we have to host a sporting event and we had to come up with ways and means to fund this event as a group.
On the first day discussions were held and decisions were made on possible sports that the class could put together and manage for the event. Some of these sports included:
Volleyball
Basketball
Netball
Table tennis
Aerobics
Rounders
Dance
Triathlon
Of all the sports that were discussed, there were three that were most popular amongst the class.
Netball
Aerobics
Triathlon
A vote was taken amongst the students and triathlon was the most favorable decision. The class decided that once there is efficient and effective planning with adequate safety precautions in place the triathlon would be a success.

I was one of the students that agreed for the triathlon sporting activity over the other two sporting activities since I believed it was the most suitable event for the class to attempt.

Entry two

Triathlon being the final decision taken was now discussed as to what exactly a triathlon is.
A triathlon is a multiple-stage competition involving the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines. While many variations of the sport exist, triathlon, in its most popular form, involves swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall course completion time, including timed "transitions" between the individual swim, cycle, and run components.
Triathlon races vary in distance and the nature of the sport focuses on persistent and per iodized training in each

All of those practices lead up to meets that are typically after school or on Saturdays. Cross country meets take place at golf courses, parks, or at schools. While in track it always takes place at a track. A typical cross country meet lasts three to five hours while a track meet lasts slightly longer than track, typically lasting five to six hours. The big difference between a track meet and cross country meets are that during track meets spectators typically stay in one place. Then in cross country spectators run to different spots where they can see the runners. There are even similarities and differences between the actual races. For both I start to warm up 30 min before the race starts. I start by running for five minutes and then go and stretch for the rest of the time until the race starts. The order of events in cross country is JV boys, JV Girls, Varsity boys, and then Varsity girl. The order of who races first switches each year. Then in track, the order of events are almost always the same, regardless of the meet. Plus in track, runners go in heats, unlike cross…

U.S. News reported “that 55.5 percent of all high school students play a sport.” Students only have a few free class periods to choose what classes to take because of the number of required classes built into schedules. One of these required classes is Physical Education. Allowing student athletes to count the extracurricular sport they play as a P.E. credit will give them numerous advantages. This change will positively affect over half of high school students’ lives. Extracurricular sports should be counted as a physical education credit because sports are not only more beneficial than P.E., but it would allow student athletes to be less stressed about homework due to an open class period. This will enable students to perform better in school and in their sport due to less stress and better focus.…

From a school’s perspective, school board officials may have a conflict in whether the sport badminton should be cut from the sports program. The supporting side would support those students who specialize in badminton as their sport, they will not be able to enjoy a good experience in school since it’s a sport that only lasts for one season, students who are only able to play for a certain season which is badminton will not be able to attain a fall sports credit for their transcript. The other board official will want to cut the sport from the program. Stereotypes Of Bowling

    • 2 Pages

To most people, bowling would be considered an activity that families or groups of friends would participate in on a Friday evening for a fun night out. Many people, especially young children, tend to celebrate their birthdays by having their party at the local bowling alley. Other people, usually adults, may join a recreational league so they can sip a few alcoholic beverages while socializing with their friends. Then there are the competitive bowlers; they are constantly bogged down by the stereotype that bowling is nothing more than chucking the ball down the lane and having a good time with friends. Bowling is much more than that. .…
