A.G. What would you do if the love of your life passed away? P.S. I Love You analyses this situation with grave emotion. Thesis P.S. I Love You is one of my favorite movies because the actors show emotions in a realistic sense, the setting and shooting of the film portrays the beauty of Ireland, the storyline (based off of a true event) is truly heart-wrenching, and Richard LaGravenese shows pure directing talent in this film.
TS All the actresses and actors in this film were carefully picked, and I believe they all fit well with the characters from this movie. 1. Hilary Swank, who is Holly in the film, has a great deal of emotions and shows her vulnerability as a newly widowed woman. 1a. The way she acts while staying at home and not wanting to leave, while also not properly taking care of herself when she is mourning, portrays a real sense of feeling. 1b. It is as if I am her friend watching overhead. 2. Gerard Butler, who is Gerry in the movie, gives some comic relief throughout the movie, because he is a comical Irish man who sings and jokes around in his letters to his wife, planned for her to receive after his death. 2a. I believe Gerard Butler is well picked in the movie because he has a deep soothing voice for his storytelling, yet a joking attitude, which matches his character perfectly.3. Harry Connick Jr’s character Daniel plays a socially awkward guy who looks like a musician, and which varies from what Holly is use for she is a stern woman. 3a. His role as a new friend to the widow Holly and almost more than a friend towards the end of the 126 minute long film was perfectly portrayed. 4. Also, Holly’s best friends, sister, and mother support Holly throughout her husband’s brain tumor and death. 4a. These actors clearly match the roles of their characters.4b. Each actress brings comic relief throughout the film, for example, during the trip to Ireland when Holly and her best friends went fishing on the lake.
