OJT Report
KIIT School of Management Guideline for Writing an Executive Summary of On-Job-Training:

An executive summary is a brief overview of a report designed to give readers a quick preview of its contents. Its purpose is to consolidate the principal points of a document in one place. After reading the summary, your audience should understand the main points you are making and your evidence for those points without having to read every part of your report in full.
In your case, your executive summary is going to be read by the recruiter. Therefore, it must do the following things for you:
Tell the recruiter that you are committed and passionate about your work
You understand what exactly your responsibilities are
You are innovative in your approach and look for solutions in new ways
You are willing to learn and go extra mile to do a job
You understand how to apply classroom learning in real-life business situations
You are good with people
You have tangible takeaways from your OJT experience
What it Should Contain
Remember that your purpose is to provide an overview or preview to an audience who may or may not have time to read the whole report carefully. Therefore, your executive summary should contain:
Brief profile of the company (especially if it’s not a reputed one) and background of the work
Title and description of the project
Your responsibilities and expected outcome
Your approach / key challenges and how you solved them
Impact of your work / appreciation received (if any)
Key takeaways / learning
Executive summaries are usually organized according to the sequence of information presented in the full report, so try to follow the order of your report. However, this is not sacrosanct. You must see if it’s making sense to a recruiter.
DOs
Write the summary in active voice. It makes the summary more “alive” and “credible”.
Write the executive summary after you have completed the report
Your executive summary should be of one page. Maintain CV font guidelines.
Write your summary as a standalone document. It should make complete sense without having to read the full report. Ask someone not familiar with the report to read your executive summary to see if it does.
Take a deep look at the sequence of experiences you have gone through and see what will impress a recruiter if highlighted
Be concise while ensuring that the essence of what you wish to convey is not lost
Be logical with paragraphs.
Remember to spell-check and proofread. Don't trust the Spellchecker alone.
DON’Ts
Don’t assume that it’s just a few paragraphs of description about the OJT report
Don’t ignore or write it in a haste thinking no one is going to read it carefully anyway.
Don’t mix up different things in a single paragraph (e.g. Don’t write about your responsibilities and your key learning in one paragraph)
Don’t write something that is not there in the report
