One of the most important strengths for Sheppard Pratt is being resilient. Just recently, Sheppard Pratt endured a 12 million dollar budget cut based on a decision made by the governor to cut Medicaid funding for inpatient psychiatric stays. Immediately, Sheppard Pratt conspired ways in which money could be saved while keeping up with staff morale and patient care. Within weeks, a new program was developed to help in the current financial crisis but to also secure financial hardships in the future. A weakness would be the differences in programming between campuses. The Sheppard Pratt Campus of Towson is more modern, have more support staff, and more services than the Ellicott City campus. The moral of the Ellicott City Campus is lower because of this. The differences are noticed on a daily basis and the two campuses are compared to by staff on a daily basis. The new campus will bring new resources and a new start for the workers on the Ellicott City campus who has endured providing services with scarce services and support. With the total structure of all of Sheppard Pratt Health System, to the market place, they provide behavioral health services that are not available nationwide. Clients travel out of…
