Please attend all lecture discussions and take good written and mental notes. The exam assesses the ability to synthesize knowledge and this comprehension requires significant and rigorous preparation. Avoid memorizing a large amount of information at once just before the exam.

The presentation slides are a limited selection of topics from the textbook reading material. Those slides will be the source of 1/3rd of the exam questions. Study those slides as they are presented in written PowerPoint form. The lecture discussions regarding slide topics will be the source of 1/3rd of the exam questions. Study written notes and review mental notes collected for those slides. This material includes the professor’s oratory, students’ ideas, new information presented in writing (PowerPoint, Document Camera, Dry Erase Board), and supplementary sources such as videos, audio files, guest speakers, and demonstrations. Finally, and most importantly, the textbook reading material will be the source of 1/3rd of the exam questions. The textbook overlaps significantly with the presentation slides and the lecture discussions. At times, material from the textbook will be repeated in the slides and in lecture discussion. Some of the textbook material will not be covered in class in the slides or discussion and must be discovered outside of class mention. The textbook reading is primarily dependent on the paragraphs of content and keyword
