L 'OREAL GROUP
This essay firstly introduce the company, and their main operations in recent years, and further look into their mission, research centre, markets. And in the end the various divisions in the company.
L 'Oreal Group is the world 's largest cosmetics and beauty company (L’Oreal Group 2013), and it headquartered in Paris, France. L 'Oreal was founded by a young chemist with an entrepreneurial spirit called Eugene Schueller(L’Oreal Group 2013). The company got its start in the hair-colour business, its founder developed a hair dye formula called Aureale(L’Oreal Group 2013).
The group 's mission is to provide the best in cosmetics innovation to women and men around the world with respect for their diversity (L’Oreal Group 2013). L 'Oreal is present in 130 countries on five continents (L’Oréal 2013). The company has 5 regional research poles around the world; In Eastern America States, South Brazil, East China, Japan, and Europe. In these poles are grouped research centres, production sites, ecaluation centres, and the company 's headquarter (L’Oréal 2013).
L 'Oreal is divided into three divisions; The Cosmetics, Body Shop, and Dermatology. The cosmetics division is sub-divided into four segments; The professional products for professional hair dressers, the consumers products for mass markets, the luxury product which represent the branding of the company (Lancôme, Giorgio Amani, Carhare, and so forth), and active cosmetics called Dermo-cosmestics. The Body Shop is specialised in natural ingredients. And Dermatology division is responsible for dermatological and phermaceutical activities (Market Watch 2008 n.d.).
In conclusion, L 'Oreal Group is an international company that produce cosmetics and beauty products to women and men all around the world. Their innovations and consistency in the cosmetic and beauty industry has placed it among the top 10 brands in the world.
