The decisions you and I make every single day do not just affect ourselves, we must remember that our actions can affect everybody around us. This statement holds most true when we speak of the importance of being on time. Military wise, tardiness is just plain unacceptable. As United States Army soldiers, we are held to a higher standard. There are many reasons why soldiers are to receive corrective action, if not UCMJ (Uniform Code Military Justice) action, for failure to be at ones place of duty at the time specified. That one late soldier is not only affecting himself, his actions may very well affect his whole unit. That one late soldier could put an adverse effect on the whole mission. The United States Army as a whole, would be a much more proficient unit, if every soldier were always on time.

I could write this essay and fill it with excuses as to why I was late, but the fact of the matter is that there is no excuse. Being on time is very important. When I am late it makes everyone else run behind which then makes all the soldiers eat late and have to wait. And food is a very vital part of the army. The soldiers need their fuel in order better perform at their duty. Not to mention that when everything is running behind and then we all have to end up staying later than we would have had to in the first place. It makes the whole day very hectic and then people get irratated easy. It would make things run much smoother if everyone was on time all the time.
Being late is not only important in the army, but it is vital everywhere. No matter where you work or what you do you should always be on time. If you work somewhere and you are late then it isn't fair to your employer because they are paying you
