I Have a Mother
“I Have a Mother” I have a mother who loves me for me. I have a mother, who through all the hurt and pain; she stayed there for me through thick and thin. I have a mother who calls me for no apparent reason just to tell me how much she loves me and how she just watched the new Young and the Restless. I have a mother who taught me right from wrong, what to do and what not to do. My mother may not be perfect, but in my eyes, she is God Like. She is there for me when I need someone to talk to about the troubled times I face. She is the one that always told me ‘Do what is right, follow in your own footsteps instead of trotting in the shadows of other individuals that is leaving you behind. Keep your head up, make mama proud.”
My mother is my world, she is my rock. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t know where I would be in life. I’d be lost, confused, and done with life. I have a mother who is strong. I have a mother who is compassionate. I have a mother that discipline has kept me in a straight path to success. I have a mother who will be proud of what her daughter has become in life. I have a mother who will look at me and say “You’ve made Mama proud, do your thing baby girl.”
And when that day comes to walk across the stage and become a college graduate of Virginia State University, I will speak loud and clear so my mother will hear me. The words that I would say are “My mother is a superhero to me. Thank God for my Mother, Thank God for my Mother, Oh how I love my her, thank god for my mother.”

I’ve learned from her that problems and sufferings are part of life and if they were not part of our life we wouldn’t know the real meaning of happiness. Whenever I feel sad or upset and even when I feel so happy I always talk with her just to share it with her. Also, one of the strongest reasons why I greatly admire her is her value, and respect she lives her life by.…

Few events in my 25 years of life demanded urgent self evaluation, maturity and reliance until the sudden passing of my beloved mother.…
