History of the Internet (Romanian)
1. Istorie Internet. Evaluarea informatiei online. Resurse web pentru jurnalisti
1.1 Internet – Definitie
Exista multe definitii ale internetului de la cele din dictionare pana la cele romantioase (stiti voi). Va las placerea sa va uitati in DEX la Internet dupa definitie. Nu uitati de definitiile nenumarate de pe web. Doua dintre ele:
The Internet is an electronic network of computers that includes nearly every university, government, and research facility in the world. Also included are many commercial sites. It started with four interconnected computers in 1969 and was known as ARPAnet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by a broad array of electronic and optical networking technologies. The Internet carries a vast array of information resources and services, most notably the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support electronic mail.
1. Vannevar Bush (March 11, 1890 – June 30, 1974)

First, we can use the internet to search information. Because the internet let us search information faster and convenient, it is common to see students and people use the computer in libraries, classrooms, dormitories, offices and café when they are studying and working. The students and people can not work without the internet. So the internet has to cover these places. As a student, I know the reason why students and people need the internet anywhere. Because in modern society, people are lazy to search the information in books, newspapers and magazines. Most of people do these works online. Students are lazy to read the books, use pen to take notes an d finish the homework, they think it is faster and more convenience to use e-book to read the article, take notes and finish the homework. Also, “the information on internet is widely. It is like a large library that includes a lot of useful information and educational materials. You can search anything on it” (Bator, 2009).…

The Internet is simply a network of hundreds of thousands of computers all over the World, connected in a way that lets other computers access information on them. So if a computer is connected to the Internet, in principle, it can be connected to any other computer on the network. Today, the Internet comprises more than 45000 regional, national and international networks, which connect more than 30 million people in over 200 countries. This includes organizations, schools, universities, companies, governments, groups and individuals (Gray, 1999).…

What exactly is the "Internet"? Imagine millions of computers all around the world linked together and exchanging information. The Internet is a global network made up of thousands of smaller networks. The Internet is like a huge town. If you wanted to send or receive mail you have an electronic post office. There are also libraries you can use any time you want, with millions of books and magazines and newspapers. Chat rooms are like the schoolyard or lunchroom except you can talk to people anytime you want. And on the World Wide Web, you can play games and listen to music (What is the Internet?).…
