In this assignment I will be explaining the potential health, security and safety hazards within a nursery setting. Health Hazards
There can be a number of health hazards within a nursery one major hazard being solid nappies which obviously occurs in nurseries because young children attend and most don’t become potty trained until the age of 2 or above. Solid nappies can be a major hazard because it’s somebody else’s waste which can contains lots of nasty germs which can cause some serious health problems (http://ipcblog.org/2012/08/07/i-didn%E2%80%99t-know-that-poop-could-be-so-harmful-2/)! In order to reduce the major health risks wearing gloves when changing a solid nappy is ideal and putting the nappy when changed into a hazardous bin. Another health hazard which can occur when in a nursery setting is allergies, this can be a fatal hazard if members of staff don’t know or cater to children’s allergy needs. Allergies are a health hazard because at a young age children begin to experiment with new and different food so nursery staff may find that children react to certain food. A way to reduce the health hazards of allergies in children is to make sure you read the health notes in their files in order to make sure that the staff aren’t giving the child food they aren’t allowed or allergic too. 314325058420003695700153670This is a badge to tell people that they certain food allergies. http://srxa.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/food-allergy-badge.jpg This is a badge to tell people that they certain food allergies. http://srxa.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/food-allergy-badge.jpg -114300191770This is a picture of a hazardous waste bin what you put solid nappies in!...
