Headlights, Airbags and Wheels Are Commonly Stolen Car Items. Why Do You Think This Is the Case? Do You Know Someone Who Has Had These Items Stolen? How Can These Items Be Better Protected? Essay Example
Headlights, airbags, and wheels theft are becoming the hottest and most stolen car items. They have found that it’s not financially related. It could be a jealous neighbor or acquaintance that will steal the wheels in spite. Basically if I can’t have them then you won’t either. As for wheels, I think the reason why theft is so high is because tires and rims are very high in price. The thieves can easily steal them and then place them up for sale on EBAY or other related classified ads. I actually worked with a guy that had is car completely stripped down. It was a Honda Civic V-Tec, but they wanted what he had, whatever it was. To keep from your wheels from be stolen you should never leave your car unattended at night. Use gorilla type wheel locks to better secure your wheels always keep your key lock nut with you. Another way to keep them safe is to have them etched with a unique identification number similar to a VIN so they can be tracked. As I read report after report all I was really seeing was Nissan Maxima’s xenon headlights were being stolen. These pricey headlights are being stolen in a record 30 seconds. The gas-filled bulbs, which shine 50 times brighter than the conventional ones sell for $250 a piece on the streets. According to the NYPD’s auto-crime division, more than 800 have been reported stolen this year. I have not yet met anyone that has had this car accessory stolen. The only way that I can think of to prevent theft is Add on Car Alarm System (will turn on by itself, it will protect all doors, trunk, hood, you can add sensors (radars, glass sensors), add a shock/impact sensor, give you another starter kill, give you a real siren chirp on arm and disarm, will tell you by chirping if you leave a door or trunk open when you arm the alarm, give you a led that flashes). Airbag theft is becoming more and more common. Why would someone steal an airbag? Money! Airbags can range up to about $200. Its takes a criminal less than 3 minutes to steal

Airbags are very effective in saving lives; you are 30% less likely to die in a front end collision because of them. However, they are not made for small people and can therefore sometimes work against their purpose. There have been many instances of children getting injured by airbags, and 284 were killed between 1990 and 2004 by airbags. Luckily, there is a solution to this problem. Many cars are equipped with an on/off switch for the airbags, so you can turn them off if children are sitting in the front seat. Some cars also have sensors that determine whether or not the airbags should be used based on the passenger's weight. In the end, airbags have saved many more people than they have injured, and they are one of the most important car safety features.…

As my creative response I produced a 3 dimensional, patterned Nazi flag with each layer of the flag placed inside the previous layer. The first layer of my creative is a red rectangular box patterned with lips, symbolic of kisses. The second layer is a circular box made of images of snow, ice and delicate snowflakes. The final layer of my creative is folded black card, forming a spring-like Nazi swastika with the head and tail of an accordion stuck to either side. This creative was in response to the novel, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.…

Most people that don’t buckle up assume that they are a good driver and there’s no need. But what if a bad driver hits you? Ninety percent of people use a seat belt on highways but most traffic fatalities happen within twenty-five miles away from home and under forty mile-per-hour. ‘I’m just running to the gas station’ can turn into a fatal accident. You have an airbag and think that’ll save you? Great, but airbags can actually do more of damage than good. Airbags can push in your lungs making it hard for any adult or child to breathe. Airbags shouldn’t be used as a substitute, airbags plus a seat belt actually provides the greatest protection. When partnered with a seat belt airbags are forty percent more effective for adults. In WWYD the bike thief I learned that humanity can be very racist and sexist. "Then again she's a girl" shows that the man was sexist. With the white man only two people tried to stop him in an hour. With the black man instantly everyone tried to stop him because of stereotypes. With the white girl not many asked if she was stealing it and even one man tried to help her and got the bike off while his wife called the cops on him and the girl. My prediction was that they would all try and stop to stop the white guy but I was wrong. My prediction for the black guy was that they would stop him right away and I was right. My prediction for the white girl was that they wouldn't even ask or that they would help and I was right. Overall humanity is…

Today's headlights are protected by a lens, usually composed of polycarbonate plastic, which protects the headlight from road dirt, rock chips, bugs, grime and debris. However, time does take its toll and soon the lenses will begin to get scratched, pitted, yellowed and cloud over, with the main culprit being UV rays, which eat away at the outer layer of the lens. Fortunately there are excellent products on the market which can handle these issues. Our personal top three picks are Sylvania, Turtle Wax T-240KT, and Ez4u2.…
